This extension has been developed based on XD, despite it is not at the level of XD we try to make it as close as possible but we forgot about “select grouped” Livecode's option, thanks to you for making us note it, It is implemented on the new version of the plugin.

Thanks for the super-rapid response @andresdt - alignment seems to work much better inside groups now.

There is a new minor issue with the numbers - moving the object to be aligned periodically blurs the number (as if many numbers are appearing on the spot), as in the screen shot below, but the effect can be a whole lot worse.

Otherwise this seems to work really very well (and i must say, i do like the installer/uninstaller, very slick).

Could it be that you have two copies of DevGuides running?
It happened to me when first downloading DevGuides and putting it into the Plugins-Folder beause I assumed it is a plugin. Then I used the installer and it installed in the Extension Folder of My Livecode. That was when I got the blurry numbers at times. Deleting DevGuides from the Plugins Folder all was fine.

Further up you also mentioned some problems with bnGuides regarding groups. I was not able to figure out what you meant.
Maybe add a comment to

or send me a private message.

Kind regards

Hi @bernd - I don’t know for sure if I have two copies running - I only used the installer and uninstaller, didn’t manually place any files.
And to be honest I think the installer stack is an excellent model for delivering plugins!

Re: bnGuides - I left a response on your linked forum, bottom line is I haven’t isolated an exact recipe but will look into it and will try to.

@andresdt, @prometheus

Thanks once again for the excellent tool. As you can see above i had an error with blurred numbers. As Bernd mentioned this may be because of multiple installations, which didn't make much sense as i only used your excellent installer to install and remove this extension.

I then noticed that your uninstaller doesn't work ;)
It leaves a fully functional installation in my /Documents/My LiveCode/Extensions/ folder... So Bernd was indeed correct.
Deleting this manually fixes the issue...

Hope that helps,
Stam

I downloaded version 1.0.3 for Windows 10 and used the new Installer to uninstalled whatever was there before, and installed new.

After some very short time working with it, it stops running. Restarting LiveCode lets it work again. But then the same happens.
I am using Ctrl key, arrow keys, moving object around, etc.

I currently have no clue why.

We keep trying to improve the extension and here we leave you version 1.0.4
https://github.com/Ferruslogic/DevGuide ... tag/v1.0.4

The most significant changes in this version are:
  • Error in the numbers that were shown to the right and below the selected objects. These could be a few pixels apart from the position of the selected object.
  • Removed keyboard shortcut for removing and activating guidelines. This decision was made as this can sometimes make it difficult to work in the IDE.
