Oracle + OS X + ???

Post by D4vidrim » Thu Feb 12, 2015 10:04 pm

Hi,
I have a commercial license of LiveCode and I'd like to connect to our Oracle DB.
As I know, I cannot use ODBC, I should use directly the Oracle Connection.
My question is: which software should I install on my Mac to get it work?
Do I need the Instant Client installed?
There are really too many versions here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topic ... 96467.html
which is the right one?
Our versione of Oracle DB is the 11.

Thank you for any advice.

Hi DVD$rim,

well, obviously not, since ORACLE is a (highly) commercial software and may not fit the needs of most LC developers.
I'd like to connect to our Oracle DB.
Hm, why not ask your database-admin (or whomever), he/she should be able to answer your question.

Best

Klaus

My IT guys offer Windows-only support, while I develop on both OS X and XP-7.
By the way, on windows Oracle&LiveCode work together very well and we can create some amazing things in no time!

Ouch, but not surprising, most "IT guys" do :(

Good luck!
