When I install LiveCode 10_0_1 or 10_0_2 on Mac OS (15_6_1), and start that version of LiveCode, I get a dialog box telling me:

The "xcrun" command requires the command line developer tools. Would you like to install the tools now?
Choose Install to download and install the command line developer tools now.

The dialog box comes from program "Install Command Line Developer Tools", which LiveCode 10_0_1 or 10_0_2 apparently causes to start up. I am clicking Cancel to avoid installation of the tools.

This does not happen for me in v10_0_0. Deleting LC 10_0_1 and 10_0_2 and re-downloading and installing 10_0_2, I still get same the installation request. (I did the first installs and tries in a somewhat older OS version.)

I don't know if this is a bug, but I doubt whether LiveCode should be asking to install the command line developer tools.

Thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

It's a bit difficult to follow your description of your 'bug' - why aren't you downloading the new version of the command line dev tools?
Or is it that you have downloaded the latest versions and it keeps asking you to do this?

The fact that it doesn't happen on LC10.0 but does on later versions simply reflect the update of XCode and the command line tools ?

Sorry, I don't mean to cause offense by putting this in the bug-triage category. I considered Off-Topic, and I apologize if I'm not figuring out the right place to post; this is my first successful LC Forums post.

To me, LC triggering a request to install a developer tool seems surprising behavior -- I didn't think one would need to install developer tools to use LiveCode. I do not have XCode or other Apple developer tools installed. I even slightly wondered if such a behavior could be the result of a virus. Maybe the answer is that one should just expect to install developer tools for using LC.
