Re: Mapping handler dependencies

For my app, I had to increase this from 50,000 to 500,000 to get the flowchart. The chart eventually displayed, but I can not figure out how to zoom in on the chart? If there ANY way to display the chart larger and/or zoom in on parts? Wow, that's a big one! What's the handler count on that one? :s...

In that case, I officially declare you a hero. :D Hopefully this version will merit such an honorary title then! :D https://github.com/wheninspace/WIS_ScriptDepedencies/releases/latest v1.1.1 (20 Aug 2023) - Enhancement: In general settings it is now possible to increase the char maximum of the flo...

Re: XPDF - where is it?

Thanks Bernd, as usual you hit the nail on the head!!! I had opened a support ticket, will update as this seems like an easily achievable fix for next version. I realy hope that Livecode, Ltd can just compile the XPDF external for the M-series Apple chips to address this in an upcoming maintenance ...

Re: OCR?

I have a vague recollection that some affiliated with Livecode, Ltd. (Not the company itself) was working on a LC based knowledge base tool that used Tesseract? I think Kevin Miller did a webinar on it years ago? That implied an interface to Tesseract, whether a widget/library wrapper or a shell int...

Re: Announcing Xavvi, a Great Leap Forward for App Building

I mean, if someone had such a great business idea, surely investors should be found to fund it. Even without begging from users on a regular basis. If you have every contributed to a Livecode crowdfunding effort, then you ARE an investor. You are either getting product, services, or something as th...

Re: Announcing Xavvi, a Great Leap Forward for App Building

The other area that there has been a few legals cases around has been instances where someone has tried to copyright ot patent something generated by an AI in the name of the AI (vs a person or persons). The rling hae consistantly rules that a Patent or Copyright can't be in the AI's "name" bt mst b...

Re: Announcing Xavvi, a Great Leap Forward for App Building

THe AI helps you write Livecode script. As you said in point 1) Livecode is copyrightable. I think you are interpreting some edge legal ruling too broadly. The Livecode or Xavvi app you build - and you still build it, even if assisted by AI - will still be copyrightable (at least here in the US).

Re: Announcing Xavvi, a Great Leap Forward for App Building

Paul- Admittedly I haven't paid any attention to xavvi and don't intend to do so, so thanks for that interesting viewpoint. Is that video archived somewhere publicly accessible? At https://livecode.com/xavvi/ There are tabs at the top and bottom of the page for Overview, Tech, Pricing, etc., in add...

Re: Announcing Xavvi, a Great Leap Forward for App Building

Everyone is entitled to their own choice with regard to Livecode and Xavvi. After viewing these forum comments, I thought I would add my own. Since the late 1980's, I have made a software tool for qualitative researchers, HyperRESEARCH. Originally in Hypercard, then Supercard, then Metacard, then Re...

Re: DGH regression under LC 9.6.9rc2?

I think the problem I found was due to this LC 9.6.9rc2 regression: https://quality.livecode.com/show_bug.cgi?id=24046

This was fixed for 9.6.9rc3 and 9.6.9 STABLE.

I don't see the issue I reported under 9.6.9 STABLE either.

Re: Custom/semantic sort?

So, assuming the data is a variable (tData) in a tab and cr delimited format, and colmn 4 (or item 4 say) is the sort column (i.e. "Routine", "Urgent" and "2-week wait"), you can use set itemDel to tab -- set itemDel to tab sort lines of tData by mySort(item 4 or each) -- mySort is a custom function...

DGH regression under LC 9.6.9rc2?

DGH 2.5.2 fails to display any properties under Livecode 9.6.9rc2. Recipe: Crate a stack with a Datagrid in LC 9.6.8 with the DGH installed and enabled. Observe that clicking on the Datagrid with the object tool displays DGH property panel (in addition to the property inspector) Repeat under LC9.6.9...

Re: DGH 2.6.0 Released

Where do we get 2.6.0 of the DGH?

I am at 2.5.2. The Livecode downloads still shows the 2.5.0 ZIP (I have not checked to see if it is really 2.6 and the ZIP file is mislabeled.

Re: LCB Newbie question on file placement

Thank you. Using the Win32 version of LC9.6.8 the same code that worked on the macOS works on Windows (with the 32 bit .dll of the library). Okay, so now I guess I have to (re)learn how to actually compile C-something source on my computer to make a 64bit dll library. All the answers were much appre...
