Re: Release: LiveCode for RPi 6.5.1
The memory leak I'm talking about is on the Raspberry Pi 4 OS with LC 6.5.1 standalone, and not some other platform. I understood that, which is why I said, not once but twice, that I don't have the hardware for properly testing or diagnosing the issue you expressed having. It doesn't matter if you...

Re: Livecode Multiplayer Leaderboard
Ok, now we have a look your shooting for, while I don't normally recommend this route, it looks like what your shooting for would be a good fit for a form version of a datagrid. I *think* this lesson should get you started nicely on creating the form style grid you want- https://lessons.livecode.com...

Re: Livecode Multiplayer Leaderboard
Hello Fest, could you perhaps give a bit more information about what exactly you are trying to create? For instance, a picture would be helpful, but, lacking that, maybe a short textual form describing what you want as far as looks and functionality go? The following is an example: Are you looking f...

Re: Release: LiveCode for RPi 6.5.1
I took a half hour and knocked together the testing I did into a video. This is not comprehensive by any means, nor even on the right system ( this is on 'nix x86/64), but it is using 6.5.1 and posting long seconds and milliseconds to 'a half dozen fields' ;) I sped the video up, if it is moving too...

Re: Release: LiveCode for RPi 6.5.1
On Raspberry Pi 4 running the Raspberry Pi OS, LC 6.5.1 memory will go up until it crashes. I believe him, the one thing I *don't* have (well, more than one thing I don't have, but this I can't even emulate) is a rPi of any vintage. Only someone else with a Pi could test this combo, and, even if I ...

Re: Release: LiveCode for RPi 6.5.1
Mkay, so it is the long seconds and not the long time, as originally stated. Guess it ain't a factor on x86-64 'nix anyway, mem. use went from 2.1 GB to 2.3 GB, then dropped back to 2.1 GB after a while. Processor was up around 87% across 3 cores, but I would expect that in this kind of workout. I'm...

Re: Linux Mint or Linux Ubuntu for Livecode
I highly recommend making a few live USB drives with various distros to test before you commit As cheap as USB drives are, I'd second that motion. I actually installed several distros onto some (larger) USB sticks, and while they aren't as fast as an actual hard drive install, they were quite usable.

Re: Object library
This ALSO means that when I move from LC 7.1.99 to LC 8.22.1 I don't get myself "all flustered" because my Object Libraries don't travel with me. 8) I don't know why they wouldn't, you doing something funny with them? https://imgur.com/8I8Fb7S.png I tested it in 9.6, just in case you were using som...

Re: Release: LiveCode for RPi 6.5.1
Heya John, I actually watched the video, interesting stuff! I did have a few questions about other things in your posts, though. Building standalone stacks is easy: just rename the x86 engine directory, and substitute a symbolic link with the same name to the ARM directory. The builder will then use...

Re: Linux Mint or Linux Ubuntu for Livecode
Hiya Lemodizon, The short answer is 'you *should* be able to use any combination of the linux kernel / desktop packaging system and get Lc to run on it. I have tested it on at least 30 different distros, however, I would be less than candid if I did not point out that : some desktop's present strang...

I am pretty sure this link -
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... e-overview
- should answer most (if not all) of your questions, jmk_phd, and the links under it tell you how to do (at least some of) it manually.

Re: Hardware section / Operating system section
Well, I got it to the point where the IDE was running, however there were some caveats I should mention. At the time, I was using 6.x. on a chromebook Vm. I dunno how much of a caveat that would be, only a narrow range of IDEs run on arm, so it is unlikely 7.1..x and up would run on it using what I ...
