Re: Mac App Store - Submission Feedback - One Last Hurdle
It's good that you have a solution for now, but FWIW I've heard a rumor from a reliable source that support for the unsaved-changes indicator will be available in the engine in an upcoming version.

Re: writing and reading arrays to and from text files
Instead of "file" use "binfile". The "file" token tells the engine to translate any platform-specific line endings to the Unix standard used internally (LF, or ASCII 10), which will likely cause corruption with binary data.

It does, thanks for that. Such an options makes good sense in the demo, useful for its intended audience. Good job.wilstrand wrote:Please let me know if this answers your question.

Re: rTree v.1.0 - Professional level Tree Control
The revlet looks nice once it loads, but why does it request access to my hard drive?

Re: variable container names
You might also consider using an array, in which you could store all your data in one variable with named slots:
put "something" into tData[1]
put "somethingelse" into tData[2]
put "something" into tData[1]
put "somethingelse" into tData[2]

With its non-standard appearance and that it downloads its own updates, iTunes itself fails to meet Apple's criteria for inclusion in iTunes.
Will Apple reject it?

Next meeting: Feb 17, 2011
At our last meeting it was suggested that we target every other month for our meetings, and in keeping with our tradition of meeting on the third Thursday that would bring us to February 17. We have plenty of time between now and then to get all of our members moved over here to this new forum, but ...

Welcome SoCal RUG rats!
Many thanks to Heather for setting up this forum for our SoCal RevUser Group. Those of you coming from the old Yahoo Group where we used to host our discussions will find this forum software at least as easy to use, and setting up your login even easier. To create a new account just use the link at ...

Re: Does a Sparkle-like library exist for LiveCode?
Thanks Richard, I did realize that but I like the idea of Sparkle more than the idea of the MacApp store <g> Quite a lot of us value delivering convenience to our users over complying with arbitrary limitations. ;) At least one developer I know of (for Cocoa, not LiveCode) is maintaining two code b...

Re: faster way?
There are many ways to solve such problems, but I'm curious: why is it you want to compare data that's six lines apart? Will that ever change? Might there be some times when you want to compare things that are three lines apart, or five, or seven?

Re: Does a Sparkle-like library exist for LiveCode?
If you plan on submitting to Apple's app store you may want to skip this: their guidelines prohibit apps that download code, so any app that keeps itself up to date for the user would seem likely to be rejected.

Re: revmail
I can't understand why people aren't up in arms over the wording/placement of the "This revlet...requests access to your computer" message. I thought it would be an issue the moment I saw it, and guess what? --it was. I won't be able to use any revlet features that cause it to appear, aside from wi...

Re: revmail
Hi, I'm trying to put an email link in a revlet but it's not working. I'm using the the trial download on windows for the build. I've tried revmail & revGoUrl (fld script), both of which work for desktop builds, without success. In a previous post (Re: Using RevMail with Mac OS X) the solution was ...

POLL: Which Linux distro do you use?
I've seen a lot of Linux users here and on the use-livecode list, so I'm curious about which distros you folks are using. This poll is to find out which distro you use the most, but if you use multiple distros feel free to note which ones in a post here in this thread. It might also be good to know ...
