Re: External Dev Kit vs LiveCode Builder

Hi Paul, Thank you for your reply. After much hair pulling I managed to get the callback and Apple Sandbox / security working after much input from fellow coders on this forum all detailed in the thread Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS https://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37540 The ...

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS

Crikey chaps - I've just spotted that you were both working on the files on Christmas Day - thats all very above and beyond.

Thank-you both, I'm not sure I would trust myself with a computer late on Christmas Day hic!

Now I just need to find a better solution than DropBox for hosting files.

Re: Creating a local server

I can't remember if you're on a Mac but if so, AirDrop is a direct method.
Yes I am on a mac, however when I have tried airdrop I have found it to be rather "hit and miss" its o.k. for a few images but give it a larger number then it fails.

Re: Creating a local server

Forthworld - thanks for your very detailed response. I can confirm that I have no plans to take on Google but perhaps I should have explained my objective. Recently I had a conversation where the discussion centred on the potential loss of copyright if images are stored in the "cloud" (remote off ba...

Creating a local server

Hi all, Recently I watched a video by the "Python Programmer", published on Youtube, that showed a simple one line Python Script that created a local server to serve files stored in a single folder to an ipad or similar device connected to the same LAN. I was wondering how much work it would be to c...

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS

Note:

It seems that Apple restricts the maximum period that events may be returned over to four years maximum.

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS

It wold be so nice if Apple updated the documentation. On reflection I suspect that the documentation is correct and that my interpretation is in error and that Ventura has tightened up on calls that raise an error. In this case my code tries to read a property directly but the documentation descri...

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS

Interestingly, every time I launch a different app, it seems to reset the permissions and I need to grant them again; but once granted, relaunching the same app just works without having to grant permissions again - not sure if that's what you were asking? Yes thanks. Again I'm not sure what is hap...

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS

Thats great news although I wish I knew why it has started working. One reason is that I have just raised a bug report, https://quality.livecode.com/show_bug.cgi?id=24054 So to be clear you have confirmed that the Arm version of the application works when using version 1.1.54 of the Library. Did you...

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS

I conducted some internet searches with reference to Ventura and Apple's "protection" mechanisms. Apple acknowledge that Ventura has issues with "Full Disc Access" with applications being listed as having access yet being denied. The forum of the note taking application Obsidian reports issues getti...

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS

Arrrrgh!!!!

My view of drop box shows the files as .app which are packages so I guess that dropbox is zipping them in some way.

So I have put the three apps into one archive, it is 30Mbytes and should be on this link.

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS

Stam There is no “+” sign I can see to add apps to the permissions list and I presume something has to trigger this from livecode IDE. As yours is the only stack I’ve run that deals with Apple Calendar, I was hoping your stack may trigger this, but it doesn’t…. Any suggestions? Well apart from movin...

Re: Seeking 'beta' testers - MacOS and iOS

The error that Richmond is seeing on Ventura : executing at 10:00:20 PM LCB Error -[EKEvent allDay]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x7feca566daf0 Object GetEventsArray LCB File ReadCalendarEvents.lcb LCB Line 617 I interpret to mean that the EKEvent property "allDay" is not being recognised...
