Unicode - Encode LC field for export to txt?

Hi, In LC 7.x, where Unicode is baked in to LC, is it still necessary to encode text from a LC field when it is being exported to a text file? (Text could be from any language.) I ask because I read a comment by one of the LC developers that "any time you do I/O to a file or socket, you should say w...

Re: How To Uninstall 7.0.4 rc2

Yes, on my Win7 64 machine, it's also the case that LC 7.x does not show up on the Windows Programs to Uninstall list, though previous versions of LC do. Sounds like you've found a bug/QA issue. (http://quality.runrev.com) Searching that bug database, I saw the same issue for some older versions tha...

Re: Transferred code from Mac to PC version 7.0.3 not workin

Hi,
Can't speak to the odd Windows-side build issues, but for drop box transfers I always zip the files before dropping them.

Re: Converting media assets for use in animation

Update: It's a backdoor approach, but using revBrowser I am able to load vector drawing files as .pdf and .svg (into LC 6.6.2 on Windows 7). Now the trouble is the transparent background of the drawings is lost in the import process. I confirmed the files have transparent background after export. Bu...

Converting media assets for use in animation

Hi, I am porting a Director project to Livecode and need a way to bring in the graphic assets. I have the original asset files (vector drawings) in two formats: Illustrator v7 .ai and Flash swf files. But so far I cannot find any way to import either of those formats into LiveCode. When I tried usin...

Crash in 7_0_0 dp4

Hi, I am testing an app that is stable and shipping in LC 6.5.1, but crashed in LC commercial 7_0_0 dp4. The crash occurs when I click on a group containing about 12 fields and 12 graphics. I get this crash report: "LC for Windows has stopped working" Details: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: ...

Re: How to rotate an object 360 degree?

Hi Klaus. Would you entertain a few follow-up questions about your stack? 1) Being a newbie, I would have written a similar stack using handlers. You used "command". What's the difference? (The LC dictionary doesn't help much on this point.) 2) What is the result you are getting back from the "send"...

Re: My love for the Project Browser

I'll second that. It's the most useful thing I've found (so far) in v6.x.
