Re: allowInterrupts in version 2.7.2

Actually the problem isn't in the IDE but in the engine, so this will affect all standalones and users of other Rev IDEs such as MetaCard, Galaxy, and others.

Re: Agreed!

I agree. When I first started investigating what could be done with Revolution for CGI, I used Jacque's tutorial, then just went off on my own. All you need to get started is the basics outlined there. Strange that the link to the most comprehensive tutorial on Rev CGIs ever written hasn't been mad...

Re: the Result

I'm not sure one can look at 'the result' in a cgi operation. I guess I could try to write that to a file, but I'm guessing it won't work. You could have it return the result so the client calling it can display it. You can also write it to a file into any directory where the CGI has write permissi...

When it fails, does it give an error message? Is "the result" empty?

The RunRev.com site has had a spotty track record of posting seminar info in a timely manner, and while I trust that's being improved you can count on revJournal to post notices of upcoming events. Thats exactly why we have this section set up on the forums - people can post their events in a centr...

My question is rev con just annually or is there more than one? even if it is in another country. At least two different companies produce regular Rev seminars. In addition to what has been the annual RevCon West event in Monterey, every other year Techie Tours has hosted Euro RevCon in Malta: http...

Revolution Enterprise is and will remain an important part of the product line. It would be redundant to add a forum purely for Enterprise since it is indeed mainly a superset of Studio. However, changing the name of the forum to include Enterprise seems sensible, I'll see what can be done Thank yo...

No, I do not work for RR nor am I associate with them. I agree that Enterprise also needs to be mentioned prominately on the RR site. I'm not sure a completely separate forum is needed, however, since Studio and Enterprise are essentially the same; Enterprise just comes with a cross-platform licens...

The ultimate Rev CGI reference

Without a doubt the most complete reference on setting up and using the Rev engine as a CGI is Jacque Gay's wonderful article at: http://hyperactivesw.com/cgitutorial/index.html There has also been a lot of very helpful discussion over the years on using the engine for CGI work on the use-revolution...

Re: Searching a List, or do I need a better DB Engine?

I have a list of about 128,000 lines. Each line has anywhere from 2 to maybe 10 items. The longest line is maybe 100 characters total. So each line isn't really a lot of data. I did a simple repeat loop and compared the word being searched for with the first word of each entry. Works of course, but...

The fact that you immediately pick out only one of the things I brought up on the mailing list kind of shows the mentality of how the list works. And also by describing it with a colorful new description (less than appropriate and also quite misleading) also adds to my statement about the mailing l...

Why offer to the newcommers in the runrev community a form of support different from the one you offer to your own clients? You just don't lighten up do you? There's a HUGE difference between having rational discussions about bugs and making sweeping accusations of moral decrepitude. Sure, Rev has ...
