Re: Can't save stack

The most likely thing off the top of my head is that you're trying to serialise a non-primitive type in your OnSave code. If you are trying to put a canvas type (for example Color) in the properties array, there will be issues when saving. You need to convert to String beforehand. (this is just gues...

Re: Mouse event handle for composed widget

Hi Marken, It is something of a tricky situation as the reason the SVG path widget posts that parameter is so that the mouseUp handler of the widget's script object has the click button parameter, whereas we don't pass that in LiveCode Builder since it is accessible through the click button syntax. ...

You should probably stop doing that, because it wont

Thanks for noticing those missing properties, I must have missed them because they were 'overrides' of the existing panes.

Re: New Dictionary woes

(also if you scroll down below that chunk of text in the list of entries, you should see the actual dictionary entry for the platform function below)

Re: New Dictionary woes

Hi thatkeith, Please try the dictionary in 8.1 DP 3, it is a significant improvement on that of prior release of LC 8. I *think* the problem you might be having with 'platform' is that you are looking at the glossary entry for the word platform rather than the entry for the platform function. Again,...

Thanks Ewan, glad you found it useful. I should say that at least as much credit should go to Elanor for writing the widget & slides!

Re: Detecting if a script line has a line continuation chara

And this: /* put "a" into */ put "a" into /* put "a" into */ / tVar really has nothing to do with the line continuation char. Oops, put a forward slash there instead of a backslash :-) Should have been: /* put "a" into */ put "a" into /* put "a" into */ \ tVar If comments after a continuation char ...

Detecting if a script line has a line continuation character

I'm wondering if anyone has any clever ideas on how to check for a given line of script whether the parser will treat the following line as a continuation. Currently the script editor uses function lineIsContinued pLine return word -1 of pLine is "\" end lineIsContinued which will work in a large nu...

Re: reference of controls in a variable

The reason is that there are 'chunk properties', for example: the backColor of line 2 of field 1 Without the brackets, tListOfControls is therefore being treated as a potential field reference, hence the "Chunk: error in object expression" error. The brackets force line 2 of tListOfControls to be ev...

Re: functions from the message box

It was fixed in 8.0, then broken again in 8.0.1 (hence 'regression'), and now should be fixed forevermore (I have added tests to ensure it isn't broken again!)

Re: LC 8.1 dp 1 breaking changes?

Hi Ledigimate,
If you could let me know *which* inclusion it was that would be great - should be enough to work out what the problem was!
Thanks,
Ali
