Thanks again Klaus! Just to make sure, I put 'in 60' as the send delay. It's starting to send me spinning in circles: it seems to work, but not consistently. Which means I need to track down what the variable is that's causing this. Variable in the non-code sense of course...

Re: Including libraries in standalone?
Thanks Klaus – I seem to have forgotten a little more than I realised! It's been quite some time since I used Rev... I mean LiveCode. :) Unfortunately, I'm still stuck. After some efforts, I took a copy of the original Video Capture example stack, set its Standalone Application Settings to include t...

Including libraries in standalone?
I've poked into the Video Capture example stack and want to make something that grabs a still image, uploads it to a predetermined FTP location, then launches the URL in a browser. I have this working fine in LiveCode, but I just can't figure out how to get it functioning in a standalone. In the Sta...

Play audio control in iOS?
Hi, I've imported a short audio file (AIFF) as a control. On the Mac, when I play this either by name or audioClip number reference, it plays fine. When I test this in the simulator or on my iPhone the audio doesn't play. I'm probably missing something simple - could someone give me a nudge in the r...

Re: Capturing images from multiple webcams?
1. I think "revVideoGrabSettings" will also contain the source of the video, so switching by script with "revSetVideoGrabSettings" should "restore" the input, too. Hmm. Well, it seems that, contrary to my surface-level attempts at logic, Rev/LiveCode doesn't play ball in this way; it doesn't let me...

Re: Capturing images from multiple webcams?
I wondered whether that might be an issue. Two devious (and hence probably futile) ideas occured to me... (1) Can selecting the cam source be controlled by script? (2) Alternatively, could multiple copies of a standalone be made to work with different cam inputs at the same time, or is the input sel...

Capturing images from multiple webcams?
Is it possible to capture image data from multiple webcams (basically any cheap USB-connected cameras) simultaneously? (Near-simultaneous would be fine, I'm not worried about the precise definition of the word. ;-) I want to be able to grab a single still image/frame from each camera, as part of a R...

Re: Grayed image on the web with the revlet
you could comment out the formattedWidth/formattedHeight part of the script. It would reduce the size of the stack. Hi Bernd - I remember doing this many years ago in SuperCard, setting the pictureData of an image to itself (I forget the exact wording) in order to throw away unnecessary embedded pi...

Re: New widget: Font dialog-box!
Alternatively... 1) user select a font from a custom-directory 2) we install that font so we can use it. 3) Set some sample text in that font and capture it as a graphic 4) Uninstall the font, leaving the graphic image of the font on display Untried, don't know if there would be any 'gotchas' with t...

Thanks Mark. Oh well - I was wondering whether I could build myself a general-purpose font manager tool! Seems not.

Re: Playing sound with mouse down
Another angle might be to work with a mouseStillDown handler.
Just a comment, as I think you're already using the best option. But it can sometimes be helpful and educational to think of different ways to get to a desired end result.

Is revFontLoad result only for Rev?
If I use revFontLoad to add a font to the list of what's available within a Rev stack this works perfectly. But in my tests the loaded font isn't available to other apps, even if they are launched after the Rev stack loads the font. Is this how it works?

Re: Grayed image on the web with the revlet
Make sure that you import the picture as a control, rather than referenced: File menu/Import as Control/Image File... Thanks, this did the trick for me. One question: is it possible to script the 'conversion' of a big set of graphics from file-referencing things to controls if they are already in a...

Re: QTVR's in revlets
I hope people don't mind me going a bit deeper on this. It is an area that I've been involved with for some time, and I really *would* like to be able to do this stuff in Rev - without relying on something that's very likely to be heading towards EOL. Quicktime is such a core technology in Apples se...

Re: QTVR's in revlets
I hope Rev will figure out how to play QTVR natively in a revlet A reasonable wish. Sadly, it looks like QTVR's time has passed. This media doesn't work at all in Win7 64bit and it isn't supported by QuickTime X. If you install Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) you'll need QuickTime 7 as well in order t...
