Re: Primary Student Livecode Interface (Simplified Developer Interface)

has already been made by Richard Gaskin.
I make no claims to originality in this respect.

Re: Primary Student Livecode Interface (Simplified Developer Interface)

Ah, yes; but "Mr Teacher" (Miss/Ms/Mz) might gently guide them
by telling them about mouseDown and mouseUp like I did by fooling
around with a mouse on the table and clicking the thing 'Down' and 'Up'
as children at that age are not capable of abstract thought.

Re: Primary Student Livecode Interface (Simplified Developer Interface)

As for the script editor additive handlers Not for some 9 year old kid who is trying to get their head round the difference between mouseDown and mouseUp . To really get somewhere with anything that is going to work with the 9-12 year olds one has to try teaching LiveCode to them. Or, put another w...

Re: Primary Student Livecode Interface (Simplified Developer Interface)

AND, I'd get all this out of the scriptEditor because it is just going to confuse the
diddly-doos out of the kids:

Re: Primary Student Livecode Interface (Simplified Developer Interface)

I'd then expand the toolbar to include an oval and a rounded rectangle graphic
(for use with animations):

Re: Primary Student Livecode Interface (Simplified Developer Interface)

Personally I would do NOTHING in terms of restricting the capabilities of LiveCode . I would consider (for Primary level kids) restricting access to capabilities via a curtailed revTools palette: I'd either go for what I call the "short-arse" toolbar: - shortarse.png - Or a version of that with the ...

Primary Student Livecode Interface (Simplified Developer Interface)

I have moved this discussion over here as there is the possibility to use pictures here,
while one cannot on the Use-List.

Re: Sequential variable names

No, I don't fear arrays, and I don't fear Klaus's sense of humour either. :D

I only asked this question because it occurred to me in an odd dream in the middle of the night. 8)

Sequential variable names

Let's suppose I am importing lots and lots of numbers into a stack and I want to assign each one a name, but each variable has to have a name from a sequence; e.g. XX1, XX2, XX3 and so on. Now I have no idea how many data items I will be importing. I don't think I can do this sort of thing (pseudoco...

Re: Player object oddities

Just the same with Xubuntu (i.e. Ubuntu with XFCE) just now.

Nothing from the Toolbar, and only after the second attempt from the drop-down menu.

Re: Download the LCQC as an delimited text file

That's a super offer. The search facility on the web-page offers: Unconfirmed Pending Pending awaiting followup New New not reproduced Assigned Assigned awaiting followup Awaiting build Hibernated Reopened Resolved All And, as far as I can see, there appears to be no way to further subdivide searche...

Download the LCQC as an delimited text file

I wonder if there is a way to download the whole of the LiveCode Quality Control Center
as a delimited text file so that I can run it through a series of bespoke filters to isolate certain classes of bugs?

Re: Circular Audio Progress bar

Just confirmed that as my example finishes as the graphic's arcangle reaches about 146 degrees.
On a 2018 Mac Mini running Mac OS 10.14.6 (LC 9.5.0)

and . . . .

about 67 degrees on a 2006 iMac running Mac OS 10.7.5 (LC 8.1.8 )

which is very odd indeed. 8)
