iOS Simulator - a mystery after upgrading to LC 7.1.1

So far I was happy with using LC 7.0.6 to write a small mobile app, and I could: - use iOS Simulator 8.3 on my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.10.5) with Xcode 6.4 - build a standalone which worked fine on iPhone or iPad. But I needed to get rid of a LC 7.0.6 bug in connection with mobilePick function (bug #158...

Re: Getting mobile phone number

Thanks Dixie !
May be someone will know how to write an external to do that.
Except if you and me are the only two willing to use this feature !
Thanks again.

Getting mobile phone number

Hi all !
I could not find in LC documentation nor in this forum if (or how) LC can retrieve the phone number (if any) of a mobile device.
May be I 'm the only one interested in doing that... :(

Many thanks for your advices.

Re: Problem with accentuated chars when updating MySQL table

It works !
And I found also that I have also to use textDecode for the data retrieved from the database.

Many thanks. it was a bright light at the end of a sad week-end...

Problem with accentuated chars when updating MySQL table

Good evening, In a card script, I have to send the following simple query to a MySQL database (version 5.7, recently upgraded from 5.6 on my test server): put fld "AreaID" into tAreaID put fld "RevisedData" into tRevisedData put "UPDATE Areas SET AreaName = '"&tRevisedData&"' WHERE AreaID = '"&tArea...

Reading a text file from an incoming e-mail

In a mobile application, is there any mean with LiveCode to read a text file received as an attachment to an incoming e-mail ?
The alternative to download such text file from a server or from Dropbox is not enough flexible and not really suitable for my requirement.
Any idea ?

Re: Calculate bearing

Hi Peter, I also need to calculate distance and bearing, and I found some time ago an interesting doc at the following web page: http://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/latlong.html But I've not used it yet... Please keep me informed about any other documentation that you may find on this subject...

Re: How to use ftp commands ?

Thank you very much Simon ! I appreciate finding an answer on returning from a nice sailing… The "ftp URL ftp://ftp.example.org/directory/" syntax works fine, at least to get the file modification date. The result is not as complete as what is obtained with "the detailed files" about local files, bu...

How to use ftp commands ?

Hi everybody ! I'm trying to read some file attributes (such as the modification date/time in seconds) of a file located on a remote server, and I assume I could do that using the libURLftpCommand function (but may be there is a simpler way...). However I'm not familiar at all with the ftp commands,...

Re: Codesigning failure

Many thanks Jacqueline ! You, and also the thread, of course, helped me very much. I was more lucky than others as I just removed the expired certificate (which I did not dare to do so far) and I reset LiveCode's link… "et hop !" —as we say in french—, my piece of software came to life on my iPhone…...

Codesigning failure

After a recent upgrade to a commercial license of LiveCode 5.5.3, I have just installed Mac OS X 10.8.2 and XTools 4.5.2 on a MacBook Pro (15" display, mid 2009). LiveCode and the iOS simulator (version 6.0) are working fine. However when trying to build a standalone app for iPhone, I get the follow...

Re: MobilePickDate

Thanks Jacqueline.
I did not know so well those "pick" functions, and I will follow your advice to use mobilePick instead.
And I hope that the twelveHourTime property will be taken into account by MobilePickDate in a future release...
Again, thanks for your quick reply !

MobilePickDate

1. It seems that any call of the MobilePickDate function displays a pick wheel which is not aware of the twelveHourTime property ! For instance, even if the twelveHourTime property is set to false, the pick wheel displays something like 1 34 PM, and not 13 34. Is there any way to obtain a 24 h forma...

Re: Obtaining file details via FTP

Thank you for your comment. Actually, the link that you indicate is the post that I have already quoted in my previous message (titled: "Help ! Unable to acquire FTP file list") . And although I read it carefully several times (and may be because english is not my mother language), I could not find ...

Obtaining file details via FTP

Good afternoon, I'm trying to get the date and time when a text file was updated in a given directory located on a remote server. I read all of a previous post titled "Help ! Unable to acquire FTP file list!" dated March 1st, 2012, as I thought that the question raised was very similar to mine, but ...
