Re: Can't install MobGUI

You cannot use the Commercial version of MobGUI in the Community Edition. It is a password protected stack and incompatible with open source. The vendor is working on a Community Edition compatible version.

Re: the media player not working on android??

You need to create a native Android player using the mobileControlCreate command. The player object in the IDE is for desktop only.

I hope this helps,

Re: Commercial Externals and the Community Edition

That is correct. You cannot mix closed source and open source code. If you are using closed source of any kind in your app, you need a license.

Re: Help Us Take LiveCode Open Source

@mickpitkin92 The code security modules make no sense in an open source app. We cannot release these because this is what enables us to continue to provide closed source commercial licensing, under the dual license model, to those that want to close their source eg in apps for sale. @Nickvash As far...

Re: The Future Value of a Full Commercial Licence

Yes indeed Alex, Don't Panic ;). The new Commercial license will cost less per year to maintain. It will not include some things that are included with the current Complete license, for example the LiveCode Developer Program. We will continue to honor all existing agreements as they stand, and if yo...

Re: Help Us Take LiveCode Open Source

We will manage to do it with everyone's support! Yes, everything will be open source including the kernel. The only part we will not be opening up is the security protection. The "open language" feature will mean translation of livecode itself into some form of french or other languages becomes a po...
