Re: Fixing a search on a datagrid

Is the name of your datagrid "DataGrid"?

Re: Access

Does 'transfer that information in' mean move it to another database?

Theoretically, you could put it into something else (SQLite, for instance), and connect to it in Access via ODBC, provided you have the proper ODBC driver for the new database engine.

Re: Fixing a search on a datagrid

Most likely it doesn't work because it was written for your original need: using a table field.

You are now using a datagrid, and so have to change how you do the filtering.

Re: Rev 2.6 Not LiveCode

Are you looking for 'switch'?

Code: Select all

switch the platform
  case "MacOS"
    put specialfolderpath("preferences") into tPreferenceLocation
    break
  case "Win32"
    put specialfolderpath("0x001a") into tPreferenceLocation
    break
end switch

Re: How can I make a variable useable from card to card

If you've declared the global in all the scripts you need to access it , then you should be able to do: put "the new value" into theGlobalVariable in the Submit button's script, and it will be available in all the places you've declared it . AFAIK, globals don't inherit, so if you've declared it in ...

Re: How to deconstruct a date?

Store your dates in the DB in SQL format (yyyy-mm-dd), and then break those out by the '-' when you read it back in for display.

Re: I just cannot find the culprit here

The text of a combobox is the list of options. The label is the text of the selection, or whatever was typed into the entry area.

Re: Button in Data Grid

'me' in this context is probably not the row of the data grid.

I suspect you'll need to get the index (or line) the button is in, and then use dgDataOfIndex (Line) to retrieve the data array.

Re: Can someone check this and tell me how to make it work

It probably isn't necessary to write your SQL with all those 'numtochar(39)' and 'comma' commands. Just use quotes and commas.... INSERT INTO UserValidation (UserID,UserName, Password, UserEmail, UserActive, UserStatus, GroupID) VALUES (" & UserID & "," & the text of field "fldUserName" & "," & the ...
