Re: Error on 'put "My text" into the selection'

I assumed the text was in a field. Only a locked field will receive mouseup (1) messages! An unlocked field will only receive a right-click = mouseup (2) message, where the number is the number of the clicked mouse-button. And if a button has it traversalon property set to true, it will get the foc...

Re: OpenStack not runnning

I don't know if this applies in your case, but if you close a stack and destroystack is false, the stack remains in RAM. The next time you open it, there are no open* messages sent because to the engine, the stack is already open. If your scripts reference an unopened stack to get a property or som...

Re: OpenStack not runnning

No "Browse Tool" and no "hi" here on macOS 10.14.5 and LC 9.04.
I also restarted LC, same behavior! :(

Re: OpenStack not runnning

Does this also happen (not happen) in a standalone?
I have experienced this in the IDE in the past, but could never reproduce it.

But no word about how to use it, or am I also overlooking this?

So, if I want to make sure a particular stack is always saved in say, 5.5 vers., I should use 'stack version' instead?
There is nothing like "stackversion" in the dictionary, this is what I find so irritating in that entry for "stackfileverison"! :?

Re: Stack file version...

I think that has always been a global property, not stack specific.

Just read the dictionary which tells me that this has been deprecated with version 8 of LC.
But to be honest, I really don't get a word of the rest of the dictionary entry... :?

ID numbers mean that kiddos have to go and look them up . . .
Then use:

Code: Select all

...
set the icon of btn x to (the ID of image "whatever.png")
...

Re: Questions regarding standalones on Linux

Hi redfield, 1. Well the runtime is the "former" stack (with all its properties like LOC etc) with the engine "wrapped" around it, so this is normal behavior! You need to add something like: on preopenstack set the loc of this stack to the screenloc endpreopenstack 2. "keydown" only accepts ONE para...

Re: Copy Files in Standalone settings

And no need to "set the defaultfolder" if you provide an ABSOLUTE path:

Code: Select all

...
## set the defaultFolder to (specialFolderPath("documents") & slash)
put URL("file:" & (specialFolderPath(documents") & "/Script.txt")) into tfile

Re: Environment: which applies when?

Hi Sri,

if not "mobile" then it must be desktop, so this should do the job:

Code: Select all

...
if the environment = "mobile" then
   play video tVideoURL
else
  ## Desktop: IDE or Standalone
  show player 1
  start player 1
end if
