Re: itemdelimiter?

Not in the Queen's English. It should be "gimme". Of course you Americans must have changed it so as not to mistakenly pronounce it "gim" or even try to Frenchify it and say "zhimm".
Mind you I expect Richmond would have another flavour. But not flavor.

Re: Question about 'within'...

Not tested, but maybe the original one liner would work using the "screenMouseLoc" perhaps?
(Which seems to be the way Klausimausi is thinking too.)

Re: " & quote...

A more robust solution, and a handy technique for you: 1) a function can make the quote handling easier function repQ pText,pQ replace pQ with quote in pText return pText end repQ You can do your typing and swap another character for a double quote to make it easier, in the example below, use ~ as i...

Re: The blend level of a stack...

Having a stack level opaque setting on all platforms that can have inheritance or individual inheritance blocking for child controls would be really cool. I once needed to have a feature like this to have a scrolling window of text across a user's desktop. Faking this with snapshotting the text chan...

Re: datagrid form save / update sqlite

Hi Paul Firstly, you can ask as many questions as you like. Related to the same original enquiry, as here, continue to post on the same thread. But for a new subject, open a new thread. Expect a lot of answers, and a lot of help, but also do your own research and learn. Especially from the Scripting...

Re: datagrid form save / update sqlite

I don't see where you have identified the row ID in the datagrid, but let's say it's in the dgData as a column called "rowid", and matches the index column name in the SQLite table. Try: command takeImageFromDatagrid put getDatabaseID() into tDatabaseID put the dgHilitedLines of group "mydatagrid" i...

Re: The blend level of a stack...

Er, apart from the Window decorations fading in and out, can I ask what is expected here? As far as I can see, the background graphic "Round Rectangle" is always visible. I can't see any partial transparency of the stack. Is this what you're expecting? I got the impression you were suggesting we cou...

Re: Variable in filepath

Hi geo

Concatenate the literals within quotes, and the variables outside, joined with the & operator, just as you join the url file format to the value returned by the specialFolderPath function

Code: Select all

set the text of image "image" to url ("binfile:" & specialFolderPath("documents") & "/" & tName)

Re: datagrid form save / update sqlite

The syntax for your update query is UPDATE survey_results SET species_image = '<theBase64EncodedData>' WHERE rowid = <theIdoftheRowtobeUpdated> https://www.w3schools.com/sql/sql_ref_update.asp will give you more help, as will the whole site. I assume I have got your table and data structure and type...

Re: Set defaultFolder BEFORE answer FOLDER

noone except a bored admin like me, checks old threads. Or me, not that I was either bored or an admin... I spent a little while investigating this, as in fact 0x0a is 10 in base 10 and as Ken Ray's page shows, no folder for CSIDL value 10 is applicable. specialFolderPath (10) will not return a val...

Re: datagrid form save / update sqlite

It's very hard to be specific without knowing your code, and data structure. In general terms though: When you query the table to populate the form, include the record id (unique indexed value) and although it might not be displayed, that will then be the hook you can use to get the confirmation det...

Re: Edit text size

Mmm, yes better to think in terms of "inheritance" rather than "defaults". Set the textSize (or textFont, or backcolor, or other properties) of the parent, and any child objects that do not have the explicit setting, will inherit that from the parent. This could be the stack, the card, the group, et...

Re: Edit text size

Well if you want to reset EVERYTHING to default you could repeat with i = 1 to the number of cards of this stack repeat with j = 1 to the number of controls of card i of this stack if the textSize of control j of card i of this stack is not empty then set the textSize of control j of card i of this ...

Re: Question marks instead of characters

How are you importing the font files to the Android standalone? You need to add them via the copy files tab in the standalone settings. Try to "answer the fontNames" in the standalone so that you can see the fonts have been imported correctly and are available for use by the app.
