Hi Bill, You need to have a look in the documentation to see the distinction between the "selectedLine" and the "hilitedLine" selectedLine is a function and returns a chunk expression containing information about the currently selected line(s) The selectedLine function returns a chunk expression of ...

I followed those steps and had no problem on my system (Rev Studio 3.0.0 build 750 on Windows XP). Typing into the find box in the dictionary at step 5 works straight off for me. (Granted I've made the modification I mentioned above.)

Maybe the style of the substack has been set? Important! The style of the stack, if it is anything other than "topLevel", overrides any mode you specify in a go command. For example, if you open a stack using the statement go stack "Some Stack" as modeless, and the style of "Some Stack" is set to "p...

Those errors you have on that newsletter page seem to be where the editor of the web page has made a few html mistakes. The font declaration is, I think, is meant to be part of the page code, not the Rev code. Similarly the end repeat vscroll... bit is an editing error when creating the newsletter p...

Interestingly (not that it's a problem in this case, as long as it's consistent) the htmlText that's returned by revBrowserGet has had almost all the quotes stripped from the source code. So <SPAN id="lblReportDate"> has been returned as <SPAN id=lblReportDate> - any ideas why that should be the cas...

No Mark, it's helped enormously! Thanks! I can't believe I've missed that, I've been scouring the revBrowserGet function for some way of doing that, and not seen the wood for the trees. I've been trying all sorts of combinations of things (see my post http://forums.runrev.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=...

No problem.
Just for info, note that the itemDelimiter is a local property and will reset itself to comma at the end of each handler.

Code: Select all

set the itemDelimiter to tab
put item 1 of tHilitedText into tName
put item 2 of tHilitedText into tAddress1
put item 3 of tHilitedText into tAddress2
should do the trick

You can "set the itemDelimiter to" very many things, to make your own separators.

interaction with a revBrowser instance

How much interaction is possible between Rev and a revBrowser instance? For example, simply to select some text, it is possible to use libBrowserSet "selected", theText - but what if you wanted to select all of the text on the browser window? (can you set "theText" to use wildcards?) Or can you sele...

I'm facing a similar task, and I'd like to know if it's possible to force a POST to follow a redirect from the server? Hi Joe, As Malte says, people are different and so will have different learning experiences. If you are prepared to start from the beginning and follow as many of the "basic concept" tutorials you can find, you should find it quite quick to pick up, especially if you have already dabbled with some c...

Or you can fix it yourself. (take a backup first). If not already selected, in the "View" menu, select the option to show "Revolution UI Elements in Lists" In the Application Browser, find the "revDictionaryStack" and expand the list of cards. There should be "Index" and "Entry Viewer". In the Appli...

I've not investigated but my first guess is the file path delimiter in Windows being a backslash, not forward slash.
Does it work if you replace "\" with "/" in the pathname before doing the tests?
