Re: Save Project on Run

Thanks everyone. LiveCode is such an interesting (perhaps strange) of regular development and something I don't know how to define!

Re: Save Project on Run

Save on run? Do you mean save while a handler is running? If so, then yes, just embed the "save" command wherever you like. Craig Thanks for your response Craig. What I am trying to do is to have the development environment automatically save the stack when you go from editing to running. Just tryi...

Save Project on Run

Is there any setting within the development environment where you can autosave on run? I couldn't find anything in preferences or googling around. TIA. JackieBlue

No Control Break?

Is there no way to break a loop once started in livecode? I was reading a text file and had a thousand rows. As a test, I had the row print on in an answer dialog. I couldn't find any way to break the loop so I had to wait until it ended. Any solution? Seems really strange.

Re: Storing information online

The problem is I've never done this before and have no idea how to :-P. Also at the moment I'm only planning on releasing this to a few friends, nothing major, so I don't really want to have to pay for it. Also I don't have a raspberry pi or anything like that :-( Need to get acquainted with using ...

Re: Storing information online

I am new to live code but this is more of a programming issue so I feel better about answering it. In my opinion, I’d just store the required information in a hosted database. You could find cheap hosting and create a MySQL database to hold the data. You are not talking large amounts of data so need...

LC provides the "answer folder" and "answer file" commands to bring in the standard OS dialogs for picking file system objects.
Thank you. I think this is exactly what I was looking for. I’ll give it a try tomorrow.

Re: File Picker Widget?

Just to be even clearer, I'd be curious if you could give a clearer idea of what your asking about. As Richard mentioned, answer files / folders gives you a standard dialog box. You mention using 'the files / the folders' and a list box, which seems to me like you are trying to create a directory t...

Just to be clear, "widget" means something very specific in LiveCode. Did you actually mean that, or rather, as I say all the time, a "gadget", that is, a control or whatever with the functionality that does what you need.

Craig
Thanks Craig. Yes, a control is what I mean. Jack

File Picker Widget?

Hi. Is there a widget that combines the functionality of selecting a directory and file? I see how I could use Files and Folders, with a list control, to provide similar functionality. But, honestly, that is not a very elegant way to do it. It seems like there should be a widget for this. TIA.

Deployment question

Good afternoon folks. I'm wondering if I develop an iOS application that is only internal to my organization, do we have to deploy to the App Store or can we simply deploy to individual iPhones? I get you need a Mac to compile the app but we do not want to sell, it is only for internal use. Thanks. ...

Re: Running LC on Mint

Bogs information solved the issue for me. Thank you. For the record, Richmond62 (I'm from RVA originally) I originally included the versions of both software. The forum software interpreted numbers as links for some reason so they were removed. I should have written out nineteen nine point two, et. ...
