Plugin and Extension folder questions...

I know, everyone that knows what these are for will be bored to DEATH , but I was able to find very little in the way of documentation about these folders and really am getting curious about them. I used to consider myself pretty savvy at finding stuff, now I'm not so sure :( I would like to know if...

Re: Is is possible to build standalones in the command line?

I've seen references to the whole "-ui" thing, but haven't actually come across any real information about it. Hopefully someone that actually knows will chime in, as I find the question curious myself.

Re: Datagrid border color

Worked here in 6.5.2 ? I think (some) of the problems with the datagrid new people experience is that it is a group, not a single control, but they try to treat it as such. I know I did, and sometimes forget and still do :(

Re: Last 5 words of a field set to italic

I also don't think it would work on text in a custom property, Usually, the dictionary will tell you what objects or types commands are meant to work on, like so (from textStyle) Objects (or Types) : card, stack, group, field, button, graphic, scrollbar, player, image *edit - loved the trip down nostalgia l...

Re: Last 5 words of a field set to italic

Thierry, glad you posted, I actually initially had it backwards  Was trying to work it out for myself while you posted, the commented section is what I started with, pasted into a card with a field: on mouseUp /* false start // set the itemDelimiter to " " // set the textStyle["italic"] of ite...

Re: Looking for Help on a Project

bidge, I popped your code into an untitled stack as is, then moved the image outside of the stack area. It went right back to the mouseLoc clicking anywhere inside the stack area, right under the mouse, so I'm not sure how it would become "irretrievable" at any point?

Re: How to get the line of a field the user clicked on it

Yah, the dictionary can be a bit unwieldy to muck through. Generally what I find helps the most is to put, in this case, what your looking to get at. So if you put 'line' in the search under all, it returns everything you can do with a line. You'll also find doing it that way that sometimes better o...

Re: How to get the line of a field the user clicked on it

I am guessing this is what you'd be looking for - clickLine Summary: Returns the number of the line that the user last clicked in a field. Examples: select the clickLine put the value of the clickLine into textOfClickedLine Use the clickLine function within a mouseDown, mouseUp, or selectionChanged ...

Re: Something strange...

Jacque, I noticed almost immediately that I didn't know what I was looking at in the errorDialog report  but I was determined to get to understand its workings ! My first playing around with it, I actually couldn't get one pre-determined error to come to mind (probably a first for me, usually I...

Re: Something strange...

In the IDE, I just plop down any old stuff and see what blows up. That is called brutish programming. I invented that. And I am one of the chief adherents to it :P Curious about that catch / try in Lc, it doesn't catch custom code errors? Not sure I followed the dictionary entries correctly, way I ...

Re: Something strange...

Yup, I get it now, and with a few lines of error checking code in place in the standalone (while testing on other os's) you should be able to catch those bugs before final deployment. Something along the lines of try [code] catch [Err] put [Err] end try or even if / then or case statements to make s...

Re: Something strange...

Oh Craig, I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood what you were saying. When I saw this part : At least in the IDE, there are powerful tools that tell you where to look. I thought maybe there was something (amidst the metric TON of stuff) I was missing on how to test the command cross platform from the I...
