What he means is that those entries and links in the dictionary will tell you what you want to know.

I believe you underestimate the scope of impact on backward compatibility...
Meh, that only affect you long timers and anyone working with really far back IDEs and stuff... HEY WAIT A MINUTE, THATS ME !!!

Oh wait, they won't fix anything I'm using, never mind

Nah, I wouldn't punch you for that, I always figured you for a Vim (/ v ɪ m /; a contraction of Vi IMproved) guy though

Re: are there attempts to develop a revBrowser compatible with Linux ?

And of course, adding users to the sudo'ers list per the terminal requires the same. It is really going to come down to who set the machine up and the steps used to create the users groups. Like I said, I'd hate to recommend a reinstall without more information. @mwieder - Vi ?!?! EMACS MAN!! (ducki...

Re: carriage return

Very nicely put Richard. As an aside, I don't know any language that works on multiple (or even single!) platforms that does not have it's own peculiarities where you have to work around something. Might not be line endings, but it will sure be something. In this case, as Richard says, once you disc...

Re: Simple CTRL key question.

To select a bunch of objects, just click -> drag your mouse from any blank area to any other blank area on the other side of the objects. Alternately, you can shift/click on each object. Selection_004.png To copy an object(s), the easiest way is to hold down the ctrl key on your keyboard, then click...

Re: are there attempts to develop a revBrowser compatible with Linux ?

Just to refresh my memory about 'buntu installs (you'll have to excuse me on this, I run several different types of installs a day), I re-ran the installer. Indeed, your user password should have sufficed for synaptic, as the various 'buntu's just skip creating a root password to enable sudo in Debi...

Re: are there attempts to develop a revBrowser compatible with Linux ?

Yes, you do need the admin password to install *almost* anything for linux, again because the changes are system wide. Did you set this box up, or was it setup previous to your getting it? During the installation is when passwords would have been created. Not knowing the root password is going to se...

Re: Player does not show on ubuntu

My guess (meaning I haven't messed with video much on any system) would be that you'd roll your own buttons, then script those to the properties, which is a lot easier than it sounds. If your going to design your own buttons/controls, instead of making it a linux only thing I'd just go with em for a...

I don't know, but it certainly sounds like a weird one you found. I certainly would think numToChar(10) wouldn't be changed. Just weird.

I know, I know, 2 year old thread  I actually came across it looking for information about pictures in sqlite dbs. Klaus, you've been waiting a long time for this answer, though, and I love it when I can pitch in for you! Glad you could solve your problem, but what exactly was the problem i...

Re: are there attempts to develop a revBrowser compatible with Linux ?

.I see no access to older versions of chrome, any recommendations? Yes, I am sorry I gave poor directions on installing Chrome itself. You want to do this through synaptic, which will download and install the correct version for your system. In your menu you should see 'system tools', synaptic shou...
