Re: Build times

I'm sorry mvillion, when i said to look at the processes, I meant (for apple) using the "Activity Monitor" to see what was taking up resources on the system during a build :) although it is good to know where in the build process the slow down takes place. It really shouldn't require (I don't think)...

Re: How showing the current font in a popup menu SOLVED

Phwew, I appreciate the understanding a LOT
In the meantime, I will work on my reading comprehension skills and hopefully avoid similar in the future

Re: Build times

I must be bonkers, but I cannot see what all the fuss is about. <sic>There are probably lots of variables re what's going on inside your computer that will be well-nigh impossible to track down and "flatten out": so, why bother? </sic> :D I don't think your necessarily bonkers (but reserve the righ...

Re: Build times

Wow, turn my head for a measley 6 hours and 30 minutes and WHAM ! First of all, thank you all for chiming in, more info always helps. Secondly, the first thing that jumps out at me is that all your systems are ones that I can not recreate here (Lin and sometimes Win, but only 10.6 Snow Leopard...

Re: How showing the current font in a popup menu ?

I am sorry Jean, usually I try to give more complete answers. I also belatedly realized that you've been using this language longer than I even knew it was around, outside of Hypercard  so I'm not so sure at this point that it is what you were looking for, but here is the entry (Lc 6.5.4) font...

Re: Build times

Heya mvillion, I was wondering if I can setup a similar situation here, since I haven't encountered this problem myself, but the descriptions you give are sort of vague. 1. A little information about your development setup would be helpful, generally the Os your using and the version of Lc. 2. Does ...

Re: How showing the current font in a popup menu ?

I would guess your looking for (in the dictionary) either of the fontFileInUse, but it was a quick glance.

Re: Plugin and Extension folder questions...

Thank you Klaus, very helpful as usual. So all I need to do if I don't want the stack showing in the project browser is prefix the name with "revThisStackName" and it will no longer be popped in? That is VERY good to know! Edit - just tried that very thing, but no love :( I must just have a magic to...

Re: Plugin and Extension folder questions...

Heya Jacque :) That last part intrigues me, if you wouldn't mind, could you go over it in a bit more detail? Lets say, for instance, that I created the 'bogs super shiny svelte Lc dictionary replacement', but I want it to open when I click on 'dictionary' in the Lc menu bar instead of Lc's native di...

Re: Script editor

Is there a preference setting to show tabs for all controls that have scripts in the card that is currently being edited? Or to you have to keep the script editor open all of the time to keep all of the scripts that have been edited in tabs in the script editor? I realize this is an older topic, bu...

Re: Plugin and Extension folder questions...

Of course, I no sooner ask the questions than I find (at least part) of the answer  http://lessons.livecode.com/s/lessons/m/4071/l/6348-How-To-Install-a-3rd-Party-Plugin-In-the-Revolution-IDE Edit 1 - Must be my lucky search-foo night, TWO parts down (although this is a bit older, I presume i...

Re: Plugin and Extension folder questions...

Well, near as I can tell, heres how it goes (mind you, I may have to revise this if I figure it out differently). *Edit final - Turns out this is correct after all, fresh install of linux Mint + Lc 6.1 = /home/bogs/my_livecode/ with the folders seen in the above post :) You know I like the older IDE...

Plugin and Extension folder questions...

I know, everyone that knows what these are for will be bored to DEATH , but I was able to find very little in the way of documentation about these folders and really am getting curious about them. I used to consider myself pretty savvy at finding stuff, now I'm not so sure :( I would like to know if...

Re: Is is possible to build standalones in the command line?

I've seen references to the whole "-ui" thing, but haven't actually come across any real information about it. Hopefully someone that actually knows will chime in, as I find the question curious myself.
