Re: How to get editor to indent on "do 'repeat'..."?

Once I thought about it, I figured out you were trying to get the line to either execute or return a result as if the line were code, however, it doesn't change the structure of what I was thinking, instead, you just move the do to this kind of format (I think) - ...my code from earlier, using do st...

Re: How to get editor to indent on "do 'repeat'..."?

Ok, I'll bite. Why use the "do" instead of just nesting the repeats? (not in the IDE at the moment, just an honest question) put fld manyLines1 into tDebits put fld manyLines2 into tCredits repeat for each item debitOrCredit in "tDebits,tCredits" repeat for each line theLine in theItem addToDatabase...

Re: script local bug or file corruption?

Ah, it was a joke! Yoke's on me, heh. I sincerely apologize, I did say it seemed way below you (I meant that in a good way) It's been a while that I wrote something you felt could stand without correction I really need to work on my interaction and communication skills, if I'm coming off that...

Re: script local bug or file corruption?

I have no idea what hellishly unpredictable morass goes on in other development environments to make file corruption such a frequent suspect for scripting issues in LC, but while we pray for the users of such systems I can offer calming assurance that if you can open an LC stack file it's probably ...

Re: How to test whether a variable is empty

Well, depending on what your doing, you just test to see if it is empty. This is as easy as an if/then one line statement, but you could go either way is or is not. I usually go with is not (for the symbolholics, <> ) : if tmpVar is not empty then // do your stuff here since it has a value # or if t...

Re: Getting a file's creation date

UMMmm... Having resurrected a number of posts so old even I could smell the rigorous coming off them, I don't want to sound too critical here atmosk, so please don't take it that way, but I had some questions about your post. here's how it's done in Richard's script mentioned above (with minor modif...

Re: Player object oddities

Unfortunately, I still haven't figured out what exactly is causing this behavior, probably a lack of knowledge on my end, but it is curious and as far as I can tell, completely random when it will hit

Player object oddities

Came across this while doing some light testing in 9.5, and made a video of the second time it happened in an hour. The OS is Debian Buster (10). https://youtu.be/QJgAkDWnVr4 In this video, at the end, the player object *was* added (through the menu action), but the first time it happened, nothing w...

Re: Can't get data from a Data Grid

's no problem :D People are hard enough to understand most times, even in person where you have visual clues and inflections of voice to aid in determining what they mean, in text it is always a lot harder and as I have mentioned in other posts, I know my style of writing is not possibly the best ar...

That lesson unfortunately only deals with getting the content of one specific column.
So it wouldn't be possible to loop through to split each column out to its own array, one at a time? I'll tinker while waiting heh.

Re: Can't get data from a Data Grid

Someone please remind us both where the "alternate" dictionary is. I am not at my normal computer, and do not have the URL here. Assuming you didn't mean Tiny Dictionary (which Klaus helpfully linked too, and is the quickest I know of), I'm thinking you might be looking for Milby's online one here ...
