Re: Using a remote stack instead of a database to share data

My first thought is I hope Andy chime in, since this sounds very similar to his group editing work. My second thought is that anything can be read if you have the (choose 2 or more)... * skills needed * time needed * determination needed Stack files are binary, but plain text in them can be read in ...

Re: How to list files on ftps

Hopefully someone will chime in with a better answer for you, as I said, I myself do very little with ftp of any kind.

Re: Identifying Current Stack

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of something like -

Code: Select all

on mouseDown
if the short name of this stack is "Image" then answer the name of this stack // do grid things...
end mouseDown
... which seems to work perfectly in testing here.

Re: How to list files on ftps

The first thing I found when looking at your question was this answer from a couple of years ago... https://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?t=23479 Depending on the version of Lc your using, though, this may also be a possible solution... https://livecode.fandom.com/wiki/TsNet Since I don't do muc...

Re: itemdelimiter?

Much as Craig says, although the format shouldn't change on that system, I believe it could be drawn from the system settings much like Lc's date is. if you specify the system date, the times returned by the date function are formatted according to the user's system preferences. This means that the ...

Re: Can't use "go stack url" with Google Drive

Depends on whether you need login info on the ftp site. If not, should make no difference, if so, you'd have to put the login info into the posting, which could be bad.

Re: itemdelimiter?

Klaus's solution maybe a tad cleaned up:

Code: Select all

   put "(2019-08-11T20:17+0000)" into t_time
   set the itemDelimiter to "T"
put character 1 to 5 of item 2 of t_time into field 1

Clean up in aisle 3....

Re: Can't use "go stack url" with Google Drive

The problem is you would have to 25 * know the actual URL for the file itself (the url you have in this thread is to G-drives view page) If the file were hosted on a plain server, for instance, you could link directly to it, which is what 'go stack url()' needs. Or ... 25 * know the api to post what...

Question about 'within'...

The goal I'm working on is to see if the mouse is within the bounds of the effective rect of the stack to set a blend level of the stack. The problem I'm having is that as soon as the mouse moves over another object, apparently it is no longer considered 'within' the rect of the stack, even though t...

Re: The blend level of a stack...

Well, after a lot of experimenting with the image used for the base shape, with a blendlevel of 0 on the stack, this was about the best I could come up with, lining the text up over the fully opaque parts of the image. Of course, it drifts right out if you go up with the blendlevel on the stack at a...

Re: The blend level of a stack...

The window is recreated from OS routines when decorations are toggled, hence the reinitialization. I found out this morning doing retro-testing on the alpha bug that this was not always the case. In MetaCard 2.5, RunRev 2.2.1, and Revolution 3, changing the window shape does *not* move the window a...
