Re: Answer dialog intermittently loses focus

If you: 40 ask "xyzzy" ...you get a dialog with a blinking cursor. If you click somewhere inside that dialog (not in the field itself) or back on the card, your cursor remains blinking? And there is no change to the look of the dialog? Sorry this reply took so long Craig, but I didn't want you to t...

Re: setting the focus with keyboard property on a field

@ Bogs. Thank for the support; that is indeed exactly what I thought, especially since that sort of question comes up regularly. Heh, well, as some few of you know, I did (paid) technical support for about a decade. You wouldn't believe the number of blind alleys I have been led down which started ...

Re: Getting Snakey

I came across this , and remembering this thread, thought you might get some use from it. It comes directly from the NSA, and at first glance looks pretty comprehensive. It came up as a story on Slashdot this morning - "Now budding Python developers can read up on the National Security Agency's own ...

Re: setting the focus with keyboard property on a field

Wow, that is quite a critique about posting. Some points I'd think are questionable, though, might be ~ I'm appalled at the number of answers that simply do not address the very clearly stated question: how does one set the focus with keyboard from a script ? For example, dunbarx obviously can't rea...

Re: Getting Snakey

Aha . . . straight from BBC BASIC. I forgot if I ever said thank you btw for pointing that assembly version of BBC Basic out to me, it actually works better on 'nix than many solutions made for 'nix. I still haven't gotten around to speed testing, but I am finding it fascinating so THANKS

Re: Getting Snakey

Now I know how to perform the first and the third operation, but not the second in LiveCode, The second in Lc is 'div', as in aPic_integerDivision.png I have never seen any value in something that changes everything to upper case or the other way round. The upper function changes what you specify (...

I’ll try to get the code next week. This is just a side project for my business and I only work on it occasionally in the afternoon.
Sounds good, I'm sure that the problem could be found in short order :D

Re: Value comparison of numbers and groups of chars

Well, "empty" means "nothing", so I don't find the following (in bold ) to be of any surprise - 1.) put empty > 20200120 - - false # something is greater than nothing... 2.) put space > 20200120 - - false 3.) put space > empty - - true # a space is a character, empty is not... 4.) put -1 > space - -...

Re: Getting Snakey

Well, I like playing with assembly, since it was the first language I messed with. As long as you kept things moving smoothly through the registers, it all came out ok. I also like Pascal (and Delphi) which came after it, I thought Borland did a fantastic job with it, and there were no surprises wit...

Re: Text to Speech external for Android.

I recently asked for a Text to Speech external for Android in the future Requests Section. There were 260 views but only a couple of replies. Heya lodijoe, The number of reviews of a topic and the number of replies are often skewed, and aren't a reliable gauge for any kind relationship for a topic ...

Re: Saving textstyle property "link" to a file

I was looking for a way to send the LiveCode file in the forum but have not found the proper way to do it. I tried to attach the file but it was greyed out. Being new to the forum, with only 2 posts at present, you will not have the ability to post links or attach items. Shortly, though, about 8 po...

Re: Multiple Conditionals on if statement?

Just so there is no question about it, I am of the same mind despite any bad jokes I might spin about it.

There is still something funny going on in poor JackieBlue1970's case which is not what they think it is.
