Re: Associating a file type with an app

You could do this with a custom URL scheme, so within the email you have a link that launches the app and passes a reference code which the app then downloads the data from a web server.

I think that would be the only way you could do this unfortunately.

Re: Tablet goes to sleep, half of app disappears

I have had this problem recently with a android app I created. Only way around it was either to force the screenlock on so it never timed out or to use the on orientationChanged and when the app changes orientation it fires the quit so it is not on the screen. See video of this happening in an app w...

Re: go to card, hide/show object, and noticable delay overal

Re: Full Screen fill problem on android after rotation

Yes I've tried that but it appears this seems to be ignored when the tablet goes into the lockscreen and when the tablet it unlocked with the app running in the foreground it crops the livecode canvas

Re: Full Screen fill problem on android after rotation

Thanks for your reply. I am currently setting the fullscreenmode to "exactFit" and setting the orientation to landscape in the "Stand alone settings" so the app is fixed in landscape. The problem only arises when the tablet times out and enters the lockscreen then the user rotates the screen to port...

Re: Full Screen fill problem on android after rotation

No rotating the screen after it has been clipped does not fix the issue, I think it may be a bug reading up online about a similar issue someone else has been having

Re: Return to app from external content

To be honest not sure but I have tested my app which uses PDF reader on lots of devices and they all return to the app after the PDF reader closes.

So I would try it on a different device as sounds like it's a problem unique to that device.

Re: Return to app from external content

On all of my devices when I launch PDF reader it pauses the app and returns to the app last point might be your firmware as i've written a app that uses PDF reader the google one and adobe one and both return to the app when the back button is pressed. Are you using the launch URL method to open the...

Re: Downloading zip files via URL

When I have created apps that downloaded zip files before just use the urlProgress to check when the zip file has been downloaded then unzip the file to a location. I have had a few problems with it throwing the downloaded status before it had finished on some older devices when downloading large zi...

Re: Downloading zip files via URL

Are you trying to download a file from within the native browser within live code ?

or by using the URL method ? as I'm not sure livecode would allow the native browser running within a livecode app to download a file that way.

Re: A problem with the mobile support page

I had a lot of problems getting livecode to use the SDK and kept getting errors when I first set it up. I think I was downloading the wrong SDK version and also JAVA wasn't registering its variables properly on my version of windows 7. To be honest I can't quite remember how I fixed this but just go...
