Re: N-Tier Application Development

That is correct and I'm still working on getting up to speed on all of this. I apologize, but yes does livecode employee a MVC or MVP style framework or could it be used as part of one. Essentially I want to create an enterprise type application and I'm trying to figure out if livecode can support t...

Re: N-Tier Application Development

Ok cool. Thanks. Essentially what I am wondering about is if livecode can be used to develop enterprise-style systems that address my security concerns.

N-Tier Application Development

Can livecode be used as the presentation layer of a multi-layer web-based application?...and can it be used as all layers of so? Or does it already have a multi-tier framework? I'm a little out of my element here, so I figured I'd ask the pros.

Re: Adding Objects To Groups

I guess I didn't specify. I need to add it to the group using script from the button creating the object.

Adding Objects To Groups

I'd like to add an object to an existing group without ungrouping and regrouping. Any way to do that?

Silly Question

I accidentally renamed a substack and I forgot the name. Can I open all the substacks/stacks in the inspector or by the toolbar menu so I can rename it?

Re: Clone Renaming

The purpose of the "subfolder" is to help organize the structure of the underlying database and communicate where the user is in that database more efficiently.

Re: Clone Renaming

All of the above. I'd like to query information from a web-based server with the app being the client program from which the information is entered and queried. Please excuse my ignorance, but how is copying a card inside the program and adding it to the navigational scheme while it is running like ...

Re: Clone Renaming

Thanks SparkOut. I used the clone command and it worked fine. However, I'm concerned about what you mentioned regarding the standalone .app file vs the .livecode file. Currently it is saving fine, but are you guys saying that in the deployed version of the application it won't save that card?

Re: Creating a template Card?

Thanks SparkOut. I did go the extra mile and create a substack. Randy when you copy the card from one stack to another do both stacks have to be open? If so, do both have to be visible to the user? Next I'm still struggling with how to copy or clone something then rename it to something unique in or...

Clone Renaming

So I have to rename a clone of a card within the code that creates the clone so that I may perform certain tasks. That clone then has to be moved from my template substack to my mainstack for use by the user. Can anyone help me with this?

Re: Creating a template Card?

Navigational scheme has two options:
Via the stack's home page
Via a back button for backward navigation
