Re: DBLib and using OrderBy

Hi Simon, Thanks for the reply. This is not actually a DBLib issue I have discovered. I have recreated this by constructing a simple sql statement and returning an array which as I mentioned, is in the order that I want. As soon as i perform a foreach statement on the array, this is when the order b...

Re: DBLib and using OrderBy

Good day,

Anyone able to tell me why the foreach statement below does not start on the first key in (the keys of myArray)? For some reason, it begins at a random number, normally 8 so my drop down combo box is never in the order that I want it.

Please help. I am stuck.
Cheers

DBLib and using OrderBy

I am using DBLib to return a set of values from an sqlite database in a specific order but I am having a problem creating a combobox which displays the correct order. If I debug and step through the code, the array when returned from the query is correctly ordered. When the following piece of code i...

Re: menu builder not staying in one place

Thank you. I have unchecked the "set as stack menu bar" and it seems to be behaving as I wanted.

menu builder not staying in one place

Good day, I have searched the forum and have not found anything similar to the issue I am having but I am running Mac OS X 10.7.5 and LiveCode 6.1.1 and when I create a new menu bar using the menu builder, the menu bar shifts up and I cannot find it on the card. All my other form items also shift up...

Re: Combobox results from Database

Hi Simon, This is the solution that I have come across... When opening the card, I get the customer and product tables and put them into global arrays.. I populate comboboxes and then in each combobox, I do the following: global myCustArray on mouseUp put the menuHistory of me into tKey put myCustAr...

Re: Combobox results from Database

Hi Simon, Yes, you make a valid point. I think in terms of cleanliness, I wanted to store the ID as opposed to the name field in the sales, production and deliveries tables. My current table structures look something like this: Customer Table: Product Table customerID productID customerName productN...

Re: Combobox results from Database

Hi Simon, Well I do actually have customers with the same name which is why I needed the name column to be unique. So when I populate the combobox, I wondered if there was a way to store the ID in the combobox but hide it.. It seems crazy to do a lookup to populate a combobox and then another lookup...

Combobox results from Database

Hi, I use LibDB for my application. I have a customer table which holds values customerID, customerName etc. In my "Sales" table, I have a column "customerID" (integer) which I use to store the customerID of the chosen customer. In the "Sales" form, I have created a combobox which I use to display t...
