Re: Rev On Rockets - is it still available?

Hi Richard Thanks for your quick reply I am writing a program that will output html from a database and will use a http server to "serve" the pages to other local computers. I thought that having a server written in LC means fewer things to bolt together and much greater control. Even if it's not be...

Re: Recently we've been investing ....[SOLVED?]

Hi Sorry Richard - That doesn't answer the gnawing question about going back to community I have bought plugins that only work in commercial that would mean all of my stuff will stop working. I have purchased the 2 year special but i'm still p**sed not to put too fine a point on it. Seems nobody oth...

Re: Recently we've been investing ....[SOLVED?]

Here's A suggestion that will not only bring in the Moolah but also bring in the business developers. Livecode using its stalwarts experience creates a sales, purchase nominal ledger with an invoicing module. Not a namby pampby system that you can knock up in a couple of days that you can use for yo...

Re: Recently we've been investing ....[SOLVED?]

HI Malte, Yeah a bit quick there - I know you can program anything you want in Java and yes I could code it if I wanted to - It's the one language I hate for its verbosity - I didn't mind C or C++ -. It stood on "C's shoulders and dropped the Baton. Ruby and Python I like easier on the Eyes. But wha...

Re: Recently we've been investing ....[SOLVED]

Some excellent ideas from Newbie4 and Malte But it just seems we are talking to ourselves - Notice we are not saying its' a massive amount IF you are making money , but if you are ready to create an app and you are a school kid - the very people you are trying to reach it's a problem. Newbie4 sugges...

Undocumented Feature in Repeat?

Seems i've got too much time on my hands. While playing around with the shadowed variable bug I found out that the repeat statement creates its own local variable that does not need to be declared even in Strict Compilation Mode. The extra bit of info is that variable can then be used later (but not...

Re: Local: name shadows another variable BUG!!!!

UPPDATE
========

I got the original version of the app and cut and pasted the two handlers that I had changed - I have strict compilation on and variable preservation and the whole thing compiles without a whimper.
So it looks like the Debugger is causing the problem as Marek surmised.

Re: Recently we've been investing ....[SOLVED]

Hi All, Here's my take on this, $499.00 a year isn't a lot if you are making a living with livecode. If you only use PHP or Python or Rails or whatever just because it's free and you don't want to pay anything while earning a living - Here's the Brutal Jeremy Clarkson bit with a bit of Woody Allen t...

Re: Standalone application with two stacks?

Hi Sean Yep I got bitten with this. On mobile there can only be 1 stack. You will also find that using options/menu button won't work either because it is implemented by a stack internally. suggestions? Either 2 cards or .. . Make all the controls on this other stack a group and set it to act as a b...

Local: name shadows another variable BUG!!!!

Hi This has cropped up a few times over the last few months but I usually fix it by renaming the "offending" variable. Usually restarting livecode does not seem to work. Today I had the error crop up - on code that worked last night and I was just debugging - I did not add any new variable. I have s...

Re: The Sound of Silence - Android Edition

Hi Dave, Thanks for the response but I had already used the playmobile with no success. But I typed your code in anyway using both the documents and engine folder for botha wav and an mp3 file and still no joy. The files HAVE to be there because I get no error from your code but I do if I change a s...
