Re: put url works on Mac but NOT on Windows 10 (for me!)

Further to my last... there seems to be any number of reasons for a Windows System Error of 123 being reported BUT (and I may well be wrong) seeing as I was trying to copy a file from one location to another I can only assume that it's the fact that whilst the Mac doesn't have any particular problem...

Re: put url works on Mac but NOT on Windows 10 (for me!)

Hi Richard,
I'd clean forgotten about sysError.
It reports "123".

I'm off to look that up now and will revert once I have some ideas.
Thanks for your quick response.

put url works on Mac but NOT on Windows 10 (for me!)

Hi, I'm sure this must have been covered somewhere before but i seem unable to locate it... I have the following line of code : put url sURL into url ("binfile:" & gsAppDataPath & "/" & gsTempFilesFolder & "/" & sFileName) Assuming all variables are declared, populated and contain no obvious errors,...

Re: LC8 Browser Widget / PDF

OK... real simple... Delete the existing widget and drag a new one onto the card... et voila, ca marche tres bien !! I downloaded Klaus's test stack to my Mac, ran it... and it worked (what else does one expect from Klaus ? !!). Anyways, that got me thinking... maybe, because my desktop was on LC8.1...

Re: LC8 Browser Widget / PDF

Hi Panos,
Thanks for that - I'll go take a look right now.
I searched (obviously not hard / long enough  ) for other mentions / posts... missed Klaus's...
I'll revert once I've more info (others may find it helpful in the future).
Thanks again.

Re: LC8 Browser Widget / PDF

Thanks SparkOut - appreciated. I recall a video presentation from Kevin that showed this sort of thing working and my 'interpretation' of such was that the new Browser widget would simply... 'work', ditto a widget for displaying PDFs (if that couldn't be handled from the browser). Indeed, Kevin demo...

Re: LC8 Browser Widget / PDF

Nope, that didn't help ! I just removed the Adobe plugins from Safari AND reset my default browser to Chrome, cycled the power on my Mac and... no difference... just a blank browser page. Interestingly enough the Browser now refuses to display ANYTHING again... The browser widget is definitely there...

Re: LC8 Browser Widget / PDF

Hi Panos, Thanks for your suggestion. I'm losing track of what I have and have not tried now. This is not made any simpler by the fact that, like I say, 50% of the time the browser widget doesn't show / appear anyways... This morning, my semi-trusty hack of toggling the visible property from the Pro...

LC8 Browser Widget / PDF

Hi all, I'v been playing with LC8 for a while now although I frequently find myself reverting to 7 due to erratic IDE crashes - sometimes 5 or 6+ a day... Anyways, I made the move to 8 chasing widgets, more specifically the Browser Widget and the PDF display widget (one and the same maybe as per LC7...

Re: Galaxy Note 8

Amazing... this happens tooooo often  ! After posting the question (and, therefore, having to think about it in a manner that enables me to verbalise my problem) I find the answer... On my ASUS (using ICS 4.1) it's simply necessary to enable Developer Mode... On the Samsung (4.4), and probably...

Galaxy Note 8

Hi, I have a strange one... I've been playing around with various android devices and Lc for some time now. I've just acquired a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and whilst my Mac 'sees' it and displays it's file contents, LC refuses point blank ! I thought rather than just fight it I would post a question her...

Re: Progress Bars

Thanks Klaus,

Would you happen to know whether this method work for ANY file type/extension or are there limitations ?
Once again, thanks a million - really appreciated.

Progress Bars

Hi, I'm trying to let myself know that the app I'm creating is in fact doing something long-winded / is not stalled - and I came up with both the busy indicator and the progress bar. Generally simple stuff but I'm now lost'... again ! Both the busy indicator and the progress bar work when the engine...
