Re: keyUp no longer working

This works perfectly: MacOS 12.5 beta LC 9.6.3 on keyUp if the backGroundColor of this stack is red then set the backGroundColor of this stack to blue else set the backGroundColor of this stack to red end if end keyUp Which would suggest something about beep , and not keyUp .

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

One of the aspects of Disney's multiplane camer was the ability to
apparently change the size of different planes independently by
changing the relative distances between them.

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

"The multiplane camera would be the means of animating Disney features all the way through The Little Mermaid in 1989, at which time it became obsolete. A “digital multiplane camera” was then invented, the first step in transitioning animated films from hand-drawn art to the computer-aided creations...

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

This shows that the problems understood by modern animators was understood in 1760 at the latest,
and, as a historical artefact it absolutely rocks:

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

As long as one doesn't allow oneself to get "ticked off" by the comments about 'pretty girls' this film is well worth a close examination. I saw it first in about 1969 and the salient points have stuck with me ever since: https://youtu.be/OebUzEhSLBI this one, which I have just watched: https://yout...

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

In its day SuperCard was quite a few jumps ahead of HyperCard. Something happened subsequently, so now it has ground to a halt and resembles something stuck at 2000. This might serve as a reminder to us all of the dangers of complacency. That animation can happen the way I have illustrated, with Liv...

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

Klaus, I understand your criticism of using move rather than set to be because, using move in a rawKeyDown script means that, on keeping a key down, movement proceeds in jerks, while, by using set that will not happen. HOWEVER , and it is a ' HOWEVER ' that has to be considered: This stack was NOT c...

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

SF2.jpg - The ONLY significant difference between this stack and the previous one is that it employs on rawkeyUp instead of rawKeyDown . https://www.dropbox.com/s/ch9nnqcerx9n7ja/SPRITE%20FIGHT%202.livecode.zip?dl=0 What that does entail is that each movement is discrete , while in the first stack,...

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

Wait a moment . . . why not just rack
the moveSpeed up well high?

Mind you, if the flaming DJ could turn the volume down
to about 20% round these parts . . .

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

Bloody Hell, mandatory attendance at an enormous piss-up for one my ex-pupils because she has finished high school (sit on your arse and you'll fall out the top oneday), no obvious method of escape.

Back with a vengeance (that means you, Klaus), and a thumping headache tomorrow . . . 8)

Re: Animation: A Moment of Panic

This thread IS about animation, and that tends to involve movement.

In my stack, the RESET button uses . . set the loc. 8)
