Re: Mainstack contains itself

Should this problem be NOT just a fault of the Project Browser I would do the following: Save all the substacks into a folder as main stacks (i.e. detach them from your main stack), the save your main stack. Then reopen the main stack and see what the Project Browser or App Overview show. If, as I s...

Re: Mainstack contains itself

Well: infinite recursion or infinite cloning of the mainstack into itself? I would suppose you can discount the latter because your computer would be well on the way to some sort of memory shortage. I would suggest,as a first call, you look at your stack with the Application Overview stack: - AppOve...

Re: Toolbar and KDE

Do you have any suspendStack or resumeStack handlers in your app?
BUT, will devote quite some time tomorrow to try and work out what is triggering that.

Re: Toolbar and KDE

NO

Very queer indeed: only with my Devawriter Pro source stack, and only on KDE.

Toolbar and KDE

At work, not working (err?) and using LiveCode 9.5.0 on Kubuntu 18.4.3 on an ACER laptop.

Everything works well, EXCEPT . . .

The "Toolbar.rev" palette disappears every time I give mouse Focus to a stack I'm editing.

Re: Neural Network

One of the "problems" of any attempt at developing a Neural Network is
that as it, supposedly, "learns" it must be able to modify its own code . . .

. . . now that would be asking a bit much in a standalone.

SEARCH and REPLACE

Doesn't seem to work "globally", i.e. throughout a stack:

Re: Can't get rid of my last image by scripting

Well, here we are . . . , . . I just opened a new stack, 700 x 700 pixels with an image in it "PIC", 600,600 and set it's image source to a rather silly picture on my desktop. I noticed one of two interesting things: 1. The filename of the image did NOT change when I set its image source. 2. The ID ...

Re: Picking up non-in-card keydowns

It is quite possible I don't entirely understand how computers work, (OK, I don't) but . . . I do know that when a USB device (mouse, gamepad, keyboard, trackball, and so on) is activated by a key being pressed, a button being pressed, a scroll wheel, etc. an electronic signal is sent "down the wire...

Re: Preventing substack from being opened

no good way to prevent the stack from being accessed, though they can't view the scripts
So, store your sensitive information in a script of an object on the substack. :D

Picking up non-in-card keydowns

Sorry about that clunky title, but couldn't really work out how to express that otherwise. :D So, I thought it would be a nifty thing to have a small standalone that lurked in the top-right-hand corner of my right-most monitor (I have 3 connected to my 2018 MacMini) - P_20190913_211909.jpg - that co...

Re: Linux, Linux, Linux

LiveCode on LXLE is community-supported. That is a most interesting statement, as I could, for the sake or argument, pay for a commercial version of LiveCode and install it on LXLE . At which point I could, quite legitimately, expect some sort of direct support from the company from which I had pur...

Re: Linux, Linux, Linux

If you're interested, I would welcome a discussion on what might be needed for you to steward a community project to make LC on LXLE run to your satisfaction. No, I'm not, as LiveCode IS running very well on LXLE , as you might work out if you read my posting rather more carefully rather than had a...
