Re: IDE Editor Font in GNOME

"Update: installed gtk2-2.18.9-12.el6.i686 library to get cursor to be displayed in IDE and applications."

In the PDF file that accompanies the most recent downloads there is this:

I think that in the light of recent experience 'optional' should be removed.

That seems a bit unfair; I donated something to the Kickstarter thing (less than what you did) and I got a jazzy badge.

Hey, RunRev folks . . .

After far too long; a few more features to muck up the Livecode GUI.

The stack is contained in the lc_hacker.livecode.zip file at the RunRev Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/runrev/

Re: more 700 users joined the forum since 1 april !

LC_gadfly.png I run a small school teaching English to Bulgarian kids, and I have a problem that has caused me no end of problems over the 8 years my school has been running: I have very strong views on what constitutes good education; meaning small groups (4-6) and totally involved teachers who ca...

Re: more 700 users joined the forum since 1 april !

"As far as I can tell RunRev have done a pretty good job of throwing cold water on the flame of Open Source Effect. Everything about the way the company interacts with the online community is very much like a closed source company." I think that is a bit harsh, and I think another interpretation of ...

Re: LiveCode apps in the Ubuntu SOftware Centre

LC_gadfly.png This sounds rather good. However I am faced with an odd problem: I should like to release an Open Source version of my Devawriter Pro for Linux, while maintaining the Macintosh and Windows versions as locked programs. However, given the nature of LIvecode, there is no reason why someb...

Re: Bad experiences with LC & Linux

LC_gadfly.png I think there are 2 problems here: 1. The fact that the Linux installer is obviously just a tweaked version of the Windows one: 1.1. It does NOT install a desktop Icon (and, considering the number of Windowing managers and/or desktop environments one can strap on the front of a Linux ...

Re: Ugly font and invisible mouse pointer (LiveCode 6)

LC_gadfly.png
Certainly part of the problem seems to be with KDE.

As I find KDE a top-heavy windowing system I stick to XFCE 4.10, Pantheon, LXDE and GNOME 2, where I have had none of these problems with LC, from versions 2.2.1 through to 6.1.1.

Re: Free LiveCode Trial?

LC_gadfly.png
That, above, was a totally nebulous message almost devoid of meaning.

There is no need of some sort of a 'trial' of Livecode now we have the Open Source variant.

The Open Source variant may be regard as, in some way, the 'trial' for the Commercial version.

Re: LC 6.1.1 rc 2 Community crashing on UbuntuStudio 13.04

I have made a stack with a single textField, then, when trying to set the text attributes via the prefs palette the whole IDE has crashed: did this 3 times running before posting the above.

Re: LiveCode will only launch Chrome, not Firefox

Tried a button with: on mouseUp launch url "http:www.runrev.com" end mouseUp and over here on UbuntuStudio 13.04 it loaded the URL in Chromium. So I uninstalled Chromium. The it launched the URL in Firefox. Obviously the default is Chrome/Chromium; but if either of those is not present it works with...

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I won't have a chance to test that out for about 2 weeks. At that point I will be able to see if it works on 2 PPC machines.

That seems a longwinded way of doing things.
