Not to be a stick in the mud, but you don't need Apple Store approval to sell an app created with Filemaker Advanced for use with Filemaker Go . I like both platforms, but not having to deal with sandbagging, app store approval, and spending 99 bucks for an apple developer subscription are the pro's...

I always found the included dictionary buggy also. I bought the paperback copy from the Rev store and it is really a helpful book to leave at my desk.

You may well be unaware of the fact that quite a mage and a sage of Livecode lives in Hawaii. His name is Brahmanathaswami, and this is where to find him: http://www.himalayanacademy.com/monastery in spite of contra-indications he is an open-minded chap who is really extremely knowledgeable about L...

I would love to make a suggestion to the LiveCode team
Background: I have been moving in and out of LiveCode since back when there was Rev Media available for download, and that is where I first picked up. Tonight I watched a really nice video presentation on Youtube from LiveCode about open source featuring Kevin, Ben, and several others of the crew, w...

Thanks Dixie. Yea I found clickLine just before returning here but after you posted your reply.
Here is how I got it to go:
on mouseUp
put the value of the clickLine into textOfClickedLine
put textOfClickedLine into fld "Whatever's"
end mouseUp
But thanks anyhow for helping.

Ipad text editor that "knows" LiveCode
I found a nice little Ipad text editor on the App store that I figure others may find useful next time they are on a long train ride with nothing to do but code and only an Ipad along for the ride. It's called Textastic and cost me $4.99 US to purchase. Has library with about 50 different languages ...

I'd be pretty interested in the same thing if there was a way. Or better yet, the reverse.... Apps without the app store..

Re: Another slow down?
Oddly, this seems to be a current hot topic on forums not related. Example is I am an electrician, and several electrical forums this week have many threads on the subject as well. I also saw the same on a Filemaker forum. For a while I thought it was just me and my isp. Maybe, maybe not.

Filemaker GO ver 12 You can develop full database solutions for IOS and deploy them without having to go thru the whole dismal app store process. FMGO12 is now free at the app store. I was wrapped up in LiveCode but dismayed by the whole process of development for IOS and the continual problems that...

Re: Finding a contract coder
What we have here can be summarized by Karl Marx's variation on the old teach-a-man-to-fish adage, ""Sell a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man how to fish, you ruin a wonderful business opportunity." What we also have here is still some confusion on my part. It takes seven weeks, but how ma...
