Re: LiveCode + Xero (OAuth1.0a)

Hi,

I got nonce calculated, got the HMAC-SHA1 stuff working in Livecode.

Now - Java RestTemplate code is the stumbling block.

Is there a RestTemplate library for Livecode anywhere?

Thanks,
Andrew

Re: Equivalent of classes in LiveCode

OK, I learned some more stuff. First thing I will probably do is the OOPEngine into the user plugin folder so I don't have to worry about it until application deployment. But... At least for what I am doing where many of my scriptonly stacks are specific to this particular application, have no UI an...

Re: Equivalent of classes in LiveCode

Is the user plugins folder a reasonable place to put scriptonly stacks while they are under development and needing active debugging and modification? While the IDE loads the scriptonly stacks on launch, wouldn't that mean that everytime I make a change to the initialization of a scriptonly stack (t...

Re: Equivalent of classes in LiveCode

Hi, OK, while I am currently running in the IDE, that is strictly for debugging purposes, not as an end target. So, preferrably I am setting up the code and UI structures so that they are ready for deployment once development and debugging is done, without needing to rework stuff to run independentl...

Re: Equivalent of classes in LiveCode

Hi,

Ah, yes, yet another nuance that I am not aware of (yet)!

I am currently running exclusively in the IDE.

Someday, will need to operate as an application independently across multiple platforms

Equivalent of classes in LiveCode:: Initializing scriptonly stacks

Hi, More learning and finding out about more implied knowledge that does not exist in non-expert Livecoders: (and no, this is not obvious to a non-Livecoder at all) When does a scriptonly stack get loaded? What does it mean to load a scriptonly stack? When/how does code in other files find out or ca...

Re: stdout on macOS 11.0.1 - working??

macOSX is descended from UNIX, so has a console application, Terminal and other UNIX utilities. I had created a stack with a single card and a button and a text field. I was running inside LiveCode (I have never produced an application that runs by itself). I wanted to have the ability to send loggi...

Re: "split as set" documentation mystifying

First, thanks for posting the bug.

From what you said, I believe the following:

The incoming variable may contain ONLY keys separated by the "primaryDelimiter".

If not, then how does the split command distinguish between a key and a value?

"split as set" documentation mystifying

split variable {by | using | with} primaryDelimiter as set The following is from the LiveCode 9.6.2 dictionary If you use the as set form the split command converts the passed variable to an array with the keys being equal to the original list and the values being true. For example, the following st...

Wow, I did not realize this was such an uninteresting question - lots of view, but no responses.

Re: BBEdit 12.5 Language module for LC

Hi Thierry, Just checking in again. Since I don't see any more posts on this thread, I suspect your user count is still around 5, but I still don't care for the Livecode IDE. Continued use of it just irritates me. Atom and TextWrangler are non-starters. Too bad there is not more interest. Thanks, An...

encrypt/decrypt & choosing a cipher

Hello, I was happy to see the functions, not so happy with the documentation. After doing a bunch of internet searching eventually I got the idea that picking a cipher was pretty much a personal preference because discovering the differences between ciphers requires more knowlege and research than I...

Excellent,
Thanks.
Now there is a more recent reference to this information - I could not find it in the most recent 12 pages of topics.

Referencing standard directories and applicationFolder

Hi, Coming from developing applications using Xcode on MacOSX. On the Mac, there are a number of folders where stuff is supposed to go. Some of it is relative to the current user's home folder and some of it is relative to the application itself. I seem to remember something similar with Windows, bu...
