Re: Stack as website?

Thank you Richard for clarifying this for me. It seems bringing Livecode to HTML5 is a very exciting step forward!
I can't wait for it for my immediate project, but I will certainly be trying it out when it is released.

Stack as website?

Please excuse this if it is a silly question... I need to make a simple website, but I know nothing of how to make a website - however I do know how to make a good looking livecode stack. So, Is it possible to present/convert a stack to be a website? I've been searching the internet and these forums...

Checking if another application is open?

Hi - I know how to launch and quit other applications, but how can you check if an other application is already open?

Re: Cascading Menu Trouble

Thanks for responding Klaus. I've been trying a few things but I'm still not getting it... and I realised that perhaps I wasn't very clear in my original post. I'm having trouble with the MenuPick message. The user guide I have is not very clear about this. My reckoning is that it should look someth...

Cascading Menu Trouble

Hi there, I can't figure out how to select items in a cascading menu button. I can get a simple menu button working just fine, and I can build a cascading menu - but writing the code for the extra submenu layer has thrown me. This is a standard menu button from the dictionary on menuPick theMenuItem...

Re: Talking to Tunnelblick

Thanks mwieder for your response. I've had a look at that file and can't figure out what I can do with the openvpnstart command. I am a novice with code (but trying hard). I've tried a few things unsuccessfully, so I suspect I will need to include some AppleScript into my stack? Tunnelblick does kee...

Re: Talking to Tunnelblick

I've just discovered that I can get Tunnelblick to generate a .plist file - to tell it to open and connect on computer start-up.

Is there some way I can utelise a .plist file? Perhaps stash it somewhere and direct Tunnelblick to it?

Talking to Tunnelblick

I hope I've posted this in the right section :-) I'm trying to talk to another program, but I'm not having much luck. For those who don't know it - Tunnelblick is an open source interface for OpenVPN ( https://code.google.com/p/tunnelblick/ ). Rather than having my program deal with VPN configuratio...

Re: Difficulty in building a database?

Thanks everyone for your useful input. I will give it a try.

I am not a programmer and use LiveCode on the odd occasion. You good people have helped me out many a time and it is comforting to know that you guys are still here :D

Re: Difficulty in building a database?

Hi Craig, Thanks for your quick response. I have some experience with scripting in LiveCode, but it has been fairly basic stuff - mainly assigning tasks to buttons; to open files, video, slideshows and the like. Not much with having a user input data and saving it... Can you point me to a tutorial w...

Difficulty in building a database?

Hi all, I am thinking of building a friendly user interface which manages a basic database of names and addresses. The user interface would have the capability to add data, edit data, search for names and group selected names. Ideally it should also be able to print a selected group and run on a Win...

Re: Icon problem - please help?

Stupid OS X... maybe. Stupid Peter - more like.

I would like to say "I should have known" but I guess I will get to say that next time - if there is one.

Many thanks Klaus for helping me sort this out!

Hi Klaus,

Thanks for your kind offer to look at this for me. I have just sent you an e-mail regarding my file - please let me know if you don't get it.

Cheers,
