Re: Back To 1993
Yeah I think my next one was a PowerBook G3 (the black 'Pizmo') - what a wonderfully tactile machine that was! That too still works but the batteries are dead and sadly not possible to find replacement (the batteries were curved because they slid into the side of the curved body and could be replace...

Re: Back To 1993
I had an overpriced LC II with a colour screen. I also had this cute pizza box but quickly ran out of room inside to add hard drives. Then, I bought a used Mac Quadra: a big empty box with a huge speaker. Yeah I finally got a Quadra a few years after the LC II - but it was the cut-price Quadra 450 ...

Re: Rename an Icon?
Perhaps both you and others need to have critical think about what you're posting here. This is as you know a programming forum, not the grammar/syntax/political correctness policing headquarters. The fact that you and Craig expend so much energy about my use of 3 letters says more about you than yo...

Re: Rename an Icon?
Why not just use 'They' and 'them' and then whatever anyone's gender is, was, is imagined to be, and so on, should not matter at all? I only use plural form for members of the Royal family ;) On a more serious note: One is not many. He or she or it or dolphin is not “they”. If people are easily off...

Re: Rename an Icon?
Yes Craig. That’s why I mentioned it may cause offence and I don’t use this. (S)he is but the smallest compromise in trying to address someone whose gender is not evident by their chosen username. And yes, I do like my code compact ;) Iif that’s not good enough, they should put their desired pronoun...

A combobox alternative
Hi all, I do not like the built-in comboBox - you can't navigate with keyboard, you can't resize the data entry field, you can't use placeholder/hint text and more... I had previously created group widget but it was a bit unwieldy, so I've re-written it from scratch. The group now contains only 2 fi...

Re: Rename an Icon?
The OP's issue was that the ID he was using appears to be changing. The naming is a different issue. I'm not aware this can happen unless the image has been duplicated/pasted - but perhaps I'm wrong. S. Yes. This is what is happening. I haven't duplicated or pasted the icon BUT I did duplicate the ...

Re: RawKeyDown and focused object: something fishy
RawKeyUp is of no use to me since, if any text input Field is selected, the chosen char would be inserted also on this, not only on the log. The general idea of all this, is to address a specified char to the log and any other char to a control, if available, or to nothing. I prepared a simplified ...

Re: Code folding for Livecode 9.6.9 and up
Stam, I have sent you the current version of code folding to your .mac address. It should fix the problem. Could you try that version? Kind regards Bernd Hi Bernd, I can confirm the issue has been fixed, and I've not encountered any other issues at present - I'll report back if I do, but as this wa...

Re: Rename an Icon?
The latest livecode has all the stuff you say it doesn’t… but I suppose that’s an indictment of the IDE more than anything else. The “numbers” you mention are (or should be) the “id” which all controls and visible constructs have. The name is independent of this and. You can carnage the names withou...
