Re: How to get started with ... everything?

Hi everyone, hoping for some more help. After a long hiatus with trying LCB, I have revisited this interface board and the LCB wrapper to the provided dll. Using now LC v 9.5 I can't get it to work any more. It no longer works with either the self-same scripts cut and pasted from before on this thre...

Re: HDMI touchscreen - Raspi Zero W mouse control?

Thanks Hermann. I guess it is not possible to use an external HDMI monitor that happens to have touch input as if it was just a mouse wired to the Pi via USB input. Ah well, nice idea.
Vielen Dank wieder!

HDMI touchscreen - Raspi Zero W mouse control?

Does anyone (Hermann) know if it is possible to connect a Raspi Zero W to an external HDMI display monitor with touchscreen capability? There would be a fullscreen livecode app running on the pi and users would drag a few buttons round the screen. Is it possible to use an external touchscreen with p...

Re: Size and Position Pane - Unstoppable Incrementation

Runaway "activities" happen quite a lot for me in different guises at random intervals on Windows here too. The most frequent is clicking the scrollbar up or down arrow (once) in the script editor and have the editor pane scroll past the code you want all the way to the top or bottom. I don't know h...

Re: Browser Widget LC button to fill and submit form

Well you can't go wrong with help from Hermann, but if your objective is to log in and download data to view in LiveCode rather than interacting with a browser widget, you might find it possible to do this directly in LiveCode script (as opposed to LCB and/or javascript to leverage browser widget fu...

Re: the cursor becomes invisible in windows

It works in the IDE on Windows 10 for me. I haven't gone as far as compiling a standalone to test for the OP. I'll maybe get round to it later.

If there is more than one object of the same type, the name will increment with a space and number, like this:

(new button) name = button
(2nd button) name = button 1
etc.
It will increment the name automatically?!

Re: Wait with messages, lag...

Certainly you can get some response, but you might not get the answer you need without more details ;) I think it is probably down to the fact that a wait is blocking. The with messages parameter allows the engine to generate and respond to messages, as well as some housekeeping. The wait command wi...

Re: Printing to Network Printer - no dialoge box

I don't know then, sorry. If you have just copied and pasted the script into the button and the vbscript into the custom properties respectively, then it should work, if it's going to at all. You could try actually installing the printer just to see if there is any more specific information you can ...

Re: Printing to Network Printer - no dialoge box

The button script does that replacement for you by the way. The vbscript in the custom property should keep the placeholder. It will be replaced again the second time to put the default printer back the way it was.

Re: Printing to Network Printer - no dialoge box

No, the <~%printernameGoesHere%~> is a placeholder. This will entirely be replaced by the correct unc pathname for the printer you want to connect. I "hardcoded" the printer name in the sample script, it might need to be adjusted a little, but on that line, it should turn out something like strUNCPr...

Re: Printing to Network Printer - no dialoge box

I can't test properly but there is some magic that can be done with LiveCode using vbscript, so you may be able to test and tweak and adjust the scripts below to achieve something like what you need. Say you have a button with the following script on mouseUp --first let's find what printer is curren...

Re: Printing to Network Printer - no dialoge box

I meant \\ before the hostname for the printer, thus:

set the printerName to "\\idkwvmwprn003\HL65"

Re: Printing to Network Printer - no dialoge box

I don't know, and can't test, but maybe add double backslashes before the printer name, so you are calling it by unc path?

Re: Extension of systemVersion

Try looking in the Script Editor, on the Variables tab at the bottom pane. Tick the boxes that say Show Globals and Show Environment vars. See what is listed specific to your environment. I have a feeling that a lot will depend on what has been put in the Path for the target machine so you will prob...
