mergMarkdown

I'm using Parallels on a Mac running Windows 10 to deploy an app to Windows. No issues with the development etc. but when I save as a standalone, it fails to launch, citing an error (see attached). The mergMardown extension is in the build folder but apparently failing to launch. Has anyone encounte...

Re: Recording audio on Windows

It has finally been sorted .. the difficulties were linked, in part, to a bug. See https://quality.livecode.com/show_bug.cgi?id=22739 The other problem was due to my fat thumbs and hunt-n-peck typing but we won't go into that. The attached stack should record audio on Windows. As I type, I have noti...

Re: Recording audio on Windows

I'm hopelessly out of my depth getting this to work. If you can set me on the right path I can only imagine it will be of benefit to the whole community as there doesn't appear to be a step-by-step process anywhere. Obviously stitching the dictionary entries with the right variables is the path to h...

Re: Recording audio on Windows

Ian, we passed like ships in the night. The default folder is set as in the code and is writeable. I have checked as much as I can. Nothing I do seems to work.

Re: Recording audio on Windows

Thank you for engaging with this issue Ian. Adding that line doesn't work I'm afraid, no file is produced, but I can only think that the syntax on the stopRecording button is faulty. Unfortunately the dictionary doesn't shed any light on 'stopRecording' (references Mac and Android only). The code fo...

Recording audio on Windows

Topic moved from the Windows platform-specific board. I have been struggling to get a stack to record audio on the Windows platform. This is as far as I can get trying to interpret the dictionary settings but as it is writ, it's causing LC 9.6.0 (DP4) Indy to crash. Any help appreciated. on mouseUp ...

Re: Recording audio

Yep. It's the way it works on the OSX version (and works well) .. Windows may have some snafu but I don't know the system environment well enough. I'm pretty sure that the problem is with cameraControlSet and cameraControlDo but I can't find a combination that works.

Recording audio

I just can't get my head around using cameraControlSet and cameraControlDo for a Windows version of my app .. I'm trying to enable user recorded audio and playback so the script refers to buttons to enable this. I've got this far but no further. Can anyone spot the blindingly obvious issue? I've obv...

Re: Simple serial numbering for standalones

Just a small change to allow for incorrect entry of the serial" on returnInField put field "Serial1" into tNumber if tNumber <= 856087687673 or tNumber >= 856087687683 then answer "Not a valid serial number. Please try again" if tNumber <= 856087687673 or tNumber >= 856087687683 then exit to top if ...

Re: Simple serial numbering for standalones

Yes, that's what I have done. I simply have a launcher stack with all the standalone requirements built in. I then build that as an app with the appropriate handler and it references the "engine" stack which saves on quit. Interestingly, the bells and whistles of the App are working by simply adding...

Simple serial numbering for standalones

I've worked out a simple way to serialize standalones based on setting the 'visible' of key objects used in operating the software. See serial.jpg The code attached to the serial number box: on returnInField put field "Serial1" into tNumber if tNumber >= 1000 and tNumber <= 2000 then set the visible...

Re: Player choice - sending commands to 2 objects that do the same thing?

I found the solution by abandoning the concept of sending signals to 2 objects and settled on the player object. On the Record button on mouseUp put the cUserDefinedRecordingFolder of this card into tUserFolder ## User did not define a folder yet: if there is not a folder tUserFolder then answer fol...

Player choice - sending commands to 2 objects that do the same thing?

Screen Shot 2020-03-23 at 1.19.34 pm.png At the moment, I record a sound (Record1, Record2, Record3 etc.), stop the recording (Stop1, 2, 3 etc) and play the sound (tSound) with button Play1, Play2, Play3 etc) and it plays to the end .. All working fine and not a problem but it plays to the end with...
