Thanks Craig. That is one possible approach.
Would you care to comment on my latest post (regarding system fonts)?

Customize LC system fonts?
Hi all.
If you look at the "Text" tab of just about any object Inspector, you'll see, under the "Font" pulldown menu, these items: (Message), (Styled Text), (System), etc.
What are these used for? Can we customize them (in order to have a uniform look across a stack)? If so, how?
Thanks!

Re: How to set the font size and line spacing of menu items?
Hi all. Sorry for "reviving" such an old post.
Has this question an answer, using LC 9.6.1, community edition?
In other words, is there any way of specifying the font, font size, style of the menu Item that has been chosen in a pulldown menu?
Thanks!

Re: Is there a "where used" function in the Debugger?
Yes! The "Find"! Thanks for the answer! But... "be careful what you ask for..." Unfortunately, for my specific problem, there are 52 occurences!!! Some of which evidently come from deeply inside the DataGrid internals! I'm not going to learn how to use the DataGrid by using this approach. :? Please ...

Is there a "where used" function in the Debugger?
Hi all. Is there a function that would allow one to discover all the places (in a stack) where a handler is called? (Context: I'm trying to get my head around the DataGrid before making a final decision on using LC to replace some dying apps on my iPhone and FileMaker Pro on my iMac. In one of the l...

Re: Project Browser documentation?
Hi everybody. Thanks for all the responses! start here: http://lessons.livecode.com/m/4071/l/56 ... ct-browser YES! That's what I was looking for. (But why is it hidden in a section entitled "Using Dialogs"?!) see the User Guide (second item from the top in the Help menu) In my setup (OS X 10.12.6 a...

Project Browser documentation?
Hi all. Going through the lastest version of the LC User Guide (9.0.0 User Guide 4/6/18). Page 483 (listing the various menu items) states "For more details, see the section on the Project Browser." Where is the section on the Project Browser??? Couldn't find that in this manual... (The Dictionary/G...

How to add an empty line to a datagrid
Hi all. The LC lessons (about DataGrid "DG") seem to assume that you want to populate a DG with data that you already have either via the Contents property or via a handler (that sets the dgData with data you already have). But I want to be able to input data directly into the datagrid, as a user, w...

Re: Tab Panel with visual effect - inconsistent?
Thank you Klaus. I will, I will. Please get used to the VISUAL EFFECT syntax I wrote above!
This is distressing! If, as a newbie, I cannot rely on the Dictionary, what should I use as a reference? The dictionary is out of date

Re: Tab Panel with visual effect - inconsistent?
Hi Dunbarx and Klaus. Thanks for your replies. Like Klaus said, in another thread, there are many ways to skin a cat! My script is much less elegant, but here it is: (BTW I had not really named the tabs and the fields as I stated in my original post, for clarity's sake :? ) on menuPick pItemName swi...

Tab Panel with visual effect - inconsistent?
Hi all. I created a Tab Panel with five tabs: "Tab 1", "Tab 2",..., "Tab 5". I also created five fields, with the same names. I added a script to the tab panel to show the field with the same name as the tab and to hide the other four fields. Works fine. Then, I wanted to "experiment" with visual ef...

Re: Swiping with native scroller?
Sorry for interrupting... I was reading this post; this led me, somehow, to doing a search of the Dictionary with the argument "scroller". This led me to "iosScroller". I don't really understand what it's talking about (although it does sound interesting). At the bottom of the entry, there is this: ...
