Re: LiveCode to Education Industry API- Community project

Martin:
Thanks for the response.
I'll be on the road for 9 days, but after that I'll be available. I'd love to see this project move forward.

Best.

Re: LiveCode to Education Industry API- Community project

Is there any activity, or results from this effort? I am interested in LMS integration and it seems like a worthy effort. I haven't heard any news for a year. What's up?

Re: iPhone splash screen sizes don't match Apple for IOS 10

Select "Devices" in the simulator, then choose iPhone 6, then click "Test" (in livecode).

Re: I need consultant for Final Build for IOS

I don't know if this is a help or not, but my major difficulty with getting iOS apps validated (I haven't tried to put one in the Apple store yet, tho) has been my confusion over the different certificates, provisioning profiles, etc, that I've downloaded and that has really confused the process. I ...

Re: Restated: Mac Sandbox Container Folder Creation Problem

Jacqueline: I haven't tried to sandbox and app. But what I get from this is that I need to have my app copy all data files from wherever they are, to the "support" folder. Is this done in a preOpenStack handler? Then there must be a test, for subsequent launches of the app, to see if the files have ...

Writing to and from iCloud Drive on iOS

Is it possible to write and retrieve files from iCloud Drive in iOS?

Has anybody done this?

Re: Codesigning error

You might want to file a bug report. That way, this kind of problem will get noticed and fixed.

Re: I need consultant for Final Build for IOS

This posting was very helpful to me. In standalone settings: set the minimum iOS version to 6.0 in the standalone app settings for iOS (for lc8) From Dave Kilroy: At the Developer Portal: *** I may need to create an application identifier. - add your new device’s UDID in the ‘Devices’ section - in t...

Re: In-App purchase. Sharing of free and paid templates

Trevix:
FYI, the link is to a private youtube video.

I had been thinking that you would be distributing editable livecode stacks that were templates for various apps. That was the context I was assuming when I made my suggestions. I'll try to view your video when it is available.

Good luck,
Bill

Re: In-App purchase. Sharing of free and paid templates

Trevix: I don't see why your application needs to be a livecode app. You can more easily distribute templates for download using a web site with Drupal or Wordpress, and online payment systems are usually available as plugins. Also, I don't see that having downloadable templates on mobile would be t...

Re: In-App purchase. Sharing of free and paid templates

Trevix: I have thought that it would be great to have a template stack for educational apps and would be set up to: 1. Log in a user (for a specific class) 2. Report (email) software bugs to the author 3. Be set up to download software update and/or add-ons 4. Keep track of student data like homewor...

Re: How to put LiveCode in the hands of more teachers/studen

Somebody would have to go through it and check that everything works, substitute "liveCode", etc. For basic scripting, it's nice. A good intro to scripting livecode. Then there's the project browser, entering scripts into contols, setting parameters, etc. There would also have to be instructions abo...

Re: How to put LiveCode in the hands of more teachers/studen

Ok, it opens with 7.1.2. I had just tried double clicking it and it wouldn't open, but it seems LC remembers older suffixes and when I first opened LC then went to "Open Stack", it got it. Nice stack. Probably a few UI changes to make it LiveCode specific would give us a great resource. Also, nice c...

Re: How to put LiveCode in the hands of more teachers/studen

One more comment: I think it's important to keep in mind that there are two possible goals. One is the actual teaching of programming. The other is actually using livecode to teach other subjects. Although one depends on the other, the goals are quite different and perhaps the resources that might b...
