Thanks!
Mark, Lynn and Shawn, Thanks for talking me through this. The fix turned out to be the easiest one - Mark's suggestion I use the "Compress" feature of OSX. I had no idea it was there. Ironic that the problem involved wasting money on something that I already had. It was also helpful to know what the...

Shawn, Thanks for replying. I'll try to answer your questions but I'm afraid you've gone over my head. Maybe you can guide me how to find answers? 1. The rev file is one I've programmed saved as standalone and zipped. 2. I don't know what a server script is. Sorry. 3. Is the test you're suggesting s...

unzipped standalone won't open
I'm zipping the app with a registered copy of Zipit and ftping it. Receiver can download and unzip but nothing happens when it is double clicked. Both using Macs running OSX5.5.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

standalone attachment
A standalone attached to an email arrives with with a .app suffix. But it doesn't open on a Mac running OSX.4. I tried putting it on the desktop and double clicking it. The icon does the zoom effect as if it is going to open but it doesn't appear on the screen or appear on the dock. The standalone w...

title bar solutions?
Closing stacks with the close button on the title bar in a standalone on Mac OSX, all changes are lost without warning.
I'd like to a) give the user a dialog prompting a save, b) hide the title bar or c) something else that will keep this from happening.
Anything I can do? Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark, It is great that you are willing to walk me through this. I'd really like to understand how the file structure works and how it looks when in stand alone. I hope you don't mind if I need help with your suggestions/questions: [quote="Mark"]Hi Jim, Are you sure that you have substacks? - I th...

Thanks Mark. I must have built my stacks in some strange way because when I tried saving the main stack (a splash page), it wouldn't save changes to the substacks. Hopefully I'm not working myself into a mess but when I tried I putting save options in the menubars of each of the substacks, it did wo...

Thanks for the help. I think using substacks for saving is going to work. A faulty assumtion that was leading me astray was that saving the mainstack would also save the substacks (I have 5 of them). So I guess that I'll need to have the user save each substack as they leave it - is that correct? Mu...

stand alone saving
This is my first project and I’ve learned a lot but am stuck on this one. I'm really glad this forum is available. Hope someone can help. I need my application, converted to a stand-alone, to save content changes in fields on quitting. When run in the Player, content changes ARE saved. But in the ...
