Thanks for talking me through this. The fix turned out to be the easiest one - Mark's suggestion I use the "Compress" feature of OSX. I had no idea it was there. Ironic that the problem involved wasting money on something that I already had.

I'm zipping the app with a registered copy of Zipit and ftping it. Receiver can download and unzip but nothing happens when it is double clicked. Both using Macs running OSX5.5.

A standalone attached to an email arrives with with a .app suffix. But it doesn't open on a Mac running OSX.4. I tried putting it on the desktop and double clicking it. The icon does the zoom effect as if it is going to open but it doesn't appear on the screen or appear on the dock.

Closing stacks with the close button on the title bar in a standalone on Mac OSX, all changes are lost without warning.

I'd like to a) give the user a dialog prompting a save, b) hide the title bar or c) something else that will keep this from happening.

Thanks for the help. I think using substacks for saving is going to work. A faulty assumtion that was leading me astray was that saving the mainstack would also save the substacks (I have 5 of them). So I guess that I'll need to have the user save each substack as they leave it - is that correct ...
