Re: Make the cursor move to next field ('select before text' not always working)

In fact that works like a charme! The code is now:

Code: Select all

on textChanged
   if length(me) > 1 then
      select text of fld 2
   end if
end textChanged
Cursor is finally responding as it should to my racy typing skills, on both, Linux and Windows :D

Re: Make the cursor move to next field ('select before text' not always working)

Have tried that too now, but unfortunately it doesn't change anything. The weird 'don't-type-too-fast' behaviour remains (on Windows). :(

Re: Make the cursor move to next field ('select before text' not always working)

Hi -hh, yes this code works fine (on Linux and Windows): -- script of fld 1 on keyDown k if length(me) > 1 then select text of fld 2 -- put k into fld 2 -- optional else pass keyDown end keyDown Only that it's not exactly what I want. After having entered two digits, the user has to hit a key one mo...

Re: Make the cursor move to next field ('select before text' not always working)

So I have tried all suggested scripts, but nothing changes. My original script is actually sufficient and does - on Linux - what I want it to do: skip the cursor to field 2 after entering two digits in field 1. On Windows this will only work if the two digits are not entered 'too fast'. Strangely th...

Re: Make the cursor move to next field ('select before text' not always working)

Many thanks for your suggestions. I tried them but unfortunately the problem remains: the cursor won't skip to the next field if the text in the first field is input too quickly - this though goes for the Windows standalone only. :?

[SOLVED] Make the cursor move to next field ('select before text' not always working)

Hi, I have two fields and after a two-digit input in Field1 the cursor should move to Field2, without having to press tab or so. This is the script: on keyUp if length(me) = 2 then select before text of fld "Field2" end if end keyUp This works fine in the Linux standalone. But in the Windows standal...

Re: Questions regarding standalones on Linux

Well in this case it's Koynacity. The themes seem to have a configuration file, containing the line show_app_icon=(true or false) So if set to true, icons are displayed but it's a puzzle to me, how the theme "knows" which icon to grab for which program. This is probably far too complicated stuff for...

Re: Questions regarding standalones on Linux

Thanks both for your replies. so this is normal behavior! Ok. You need to add something like: on preopenstack set the loc of this stack to the screenloc endpreopenstack I will try this, whereas the Dictionary doesn't know 'loc' but only 'location'. you might want to write it's last location to a fil...

Questions regarding standalones on Linux

Hey All, I have let LC create a Linux standalone of my script. One thing I noticed: the standalone window will always open exactly where the corresponding LC window was placed, while creating the standalone. Is that "correct" behaviour? I have no idea what it usually depends on, where on the screen ...

Re: Action on return, enter and also on button click

Thanks a lot, this is working very well. I put the whole script in a custom handler and then call that handler from different fields and buttons.

(Is there a way here to mark topics as solved??)

[Solved] Action on return, enter and also on button click

Hi guys, probably another silly question of mine: I would like to give the user (which is me  ) the possibility of firing the program action either by mouseclick or by hitting the enter or the return key, after me has entered a value in a field. I am wondering if I have to copy the complete cod...

Weird, I thought I had checked this but seemingly there were still several carriage returns in one field. Looks okay now. :D

Re: Convert with variable

Thanks guys, can't believe that I didn't see this :? . Have run into my next problem and again not getting it  . Field fHours contains 10 and field fMinutes 15. I am expecting the output: 10:15 AM. But this code is giving me a strange output: put fld "fHours" & ":" & fld "fMinutes" & " AM" int...
