Re: Moving a CRM project from FileMaker to LC?

Hi Stam and thank You for asking. Unfortunately it's true, »alfons« is (and will be for a while) a FileMaker 18 runtime. Due to corona and other reasons, i had to concentrate 100% to another project last year. For the coming year i'm indeed considering implementing alfons or rather a new, different ...

Re: manjaro: »Where is LiveCode?«

As far as I can tell, I did everything right with the installation. Can't say why the first time the success message was shown,
but apparently nothing was written to disk. Let's book it as a minor and exotic problem that won't come up again :-)

Re: manjaro: »Where is LiveCode?«

... i was a bit impatient and downloaded the installer just again to be on the safe side. I can hardly imagine that it could have been due to a defective download, but what can I say, this time it worked right away :-) Also the entry in the start menu was created successfully this time. So again my ...

Re: manjaro: »Where is LiveCode?«

Thanks to all of you, especially for the detailed and helpful answers. In any case, i didn't want to cause trouble or excitement, that's far from me. And maybe i hadn't expressed myself clearly enough: The installation was successful (according to the feedback), i just can't find the installed appli...

Re: manjaro: »Where is LiveCode?«

Thank you for the fast help! I choosed the installation for my user only,
since the option for all users failed.

manjaro: »Where is LiveCode?«

i can't imagine that installing LiveCode is more complicated than setting up the system itself and all other applications? I also have to admit that I come from the mac side and am not an experienced Linux user. With a few tricks i was able to run the LC installer successfully, but with the best wil...

CouchDB - Where to start?

Hi there and sorry, if I'm ending up in the wrong category – I should definitely stick to the newbie corner, but on the other hand my question is absolute CouchDB-related. I've read the posts, watched the YouTube video, purchased the udemy course, downloaded the "CouchDB library" and I'm still don't...

Re: Moving a CRM project from FileMaker to LC?

Hi ghettocottage and thanks a lot. I would like to keep the app independent/»offline« for different reasons, but the model is very interesting. I've tried similar scenarios with FileMaker, but with the runtimes and the hardening process for the delivery to macos 10.14 and 10.15 there was no way. But...

Re: Moving a CRM project from FileMaker to LC?

Wow, that was quick and extremely informative. I can see that I'm not alone. FileMaker has long annoyed their very loyal users, but the runtime-decision will now jeopardize one or the other business model and existence - the FileMaker forum is full of it. Your answer is not only very helpful, but al...

Moving a CRM project from FileMaker to LC?

Some people will probably roll their eyes when I arrive with this long read, but on the other hand, I have the impression that this community has a high level of social competence and helpfulness :-) I am currently faced with the decision of whether to migrate my project towards livecode. My app is ...

Oh, have no fear, LiveCode keep changing their prices and marketing strategy,
and anytime anyone complains they get slammed.

Re: new pricing policy / community plus

… i've found an order/receipt from the 8. of march, 2017. my problem is not the price but the promise back then: Never pay for another update to LiveCode. Get all new releases forever. No subscriptions, build as many apps as you like. This is an incredible offer just for you and it ends in 3 days ti...
