Re: iOS 17: Release mid-September
Hello Stefan, Your apps will continue to work on iOS 17 devices. Note that the iOS version of the target device is a different thing from the version of the iOS SDK (that is included in Xcode) used to build the iOS app. In the iOS standalone settings tab, you only set the *minimum* supported iOS ver...

Re: Building standalone with Trial
Hello RIchmond,
I think desktop standalones that are built with a trial version of LC will quit after 10 mins. On mobile, they quit after 10 seconds (or after 60 seconds, I am not entirely sure).
Kind regards,
Panos

Re: Problem building apps in 9.6.10-rc-1
Hello Steve, Ah that would be the problem then, I think if you delete the folder "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/" and then try again to set the SDK root path in LiveCode Preferences, then the correct JDK will be auto-filled and you will be able to build an Android standalone wit...

Re: Problem building apps in 9.6.10-rc-1
Hello Steve, What is the output of this command in the Terminal? "/usr/libexec/java_home" Also, IIRC, when enabling the "Choose JDK" button, you have to choose e.g. "/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_341.jdk/Contents/Home" and not just "/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_341.jdk" Ki...

Re: Problem building apps in 9.6.10-rc-1
Hello Steve,
BTW, I just checked my setup and I can successfully build Android apps with LC 9.6.10 RC-1 with Oracle's JDK 1.8.0_341 and build-tools v31.0.0.
I am on an Intel Mac running MacOS Mojave.
Kind regards,
Panos

Re: Problem building apps in 9.6.10-rc-1
Hello Steve,
Thank you for the update.
We might have to make the "Choose JDK" button visible anyway, since this will allow users to have various versions of Java JDK installed but choose the appropriate version for LiveCode.
BTW, are you on an Intel or in an M1/M2 Mac?
Kind regards,
Panos

Re: Problem building apps in 9.6.10-rc-1
Hello Steve, You have to make sure the version of the build tools you have installed is either 30.0.3 or 31.0.0 - and no other version is installed. If anything newer than v31 is installed as well, you get the error shown here: https://quality.livecode.com/show_bug.cgi?id=23570 Kind regards, Panos --

Re: Xcode 15 Beta, Sonoma
Nice oneThis works:
Download 14.x, extract to application folder. Start with Terminal: "open /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode"
so, I take it you can open the simulator using the same trick?
Kind regards,

Re: Xcode 15 Beta, Sonoma
Dear Stefan, LiveCode does not actually need Xcode 14.x to *run*, it just needs it to *be there*, since when building iOS standalones it uses some tools that are bundled within Xcode - it does not use the Xcode app itself. So if you just have the correct version of Xcode 14.x installed in this machi...

Re: Puzzling print-driver bug
Dear Jeff, The fix to the original issue (i.e. crash on Windows 10/11 if some generic printer drivers are installed) is included in both LC 9.6.9 and 10 DP-5. So it is strange why you see different results in your other app in 9.6.9 vs 10 dp-5. In my tests (with both 9.6.9 and 10 dp-5) I observed th...

Re: Change back iPhone iOS 16.4.1 back to 16.2?
Hello David, It might be possible to downgrade your device iOS version, but Apple has made this really difficult these days. And it does not worth the effort. RE the message you see, I _think_ it is just a warning, and it can be ignored. So, you should still be able to detect your connected device v...
