Re: How can I do some changes in LC engine and test them?

Thank you mwieder for the tips. Long story short. I reached out LC support and they helped me. I was indeed successfully compiling the LC engine but the browser widget never worked. So I couldn't do it myself, but the good news is that Panos quickly fixed the original WebRTC issue. Hopefully my bug ...

Re: Recommendation with Android native input fields?

Found the issue. I had a height too small. 31 was not enough. That's why I was seeing that default scrollbar appearing and the the padding issues. I have to set 35 minimum with fontSize 12, which is a lot considering that for normal LC fields they are defaulted to 21 px height. But after giving it s...

Re: Recommendation with Android native input fields?

Today I started playing with the 4 mobileControl commands and the suggestions you gave me, in Android. Indeed it was important to delete & create the controls on each card change. (Note: I will reply the other post about the backButton whenever I get time to follow your advice and debug that issue.)...

Re: Quitting the app in Android freezes it

Thank you for all the suggestion but the problem persist. It was worth a try. Even passing the backKey and letting the Android OS handle it still causes it to freeze sometimes. For now I will just trap it and do nothing. For now I want to finish making my Windows app compatible with Android. This is...

Re: Quitting the app in Android freezes it

This is the simplest form of quitting that I have tried. Putting this code at the mainstack script: on backKey quit end backKey Once I open the app, exiting with the back button works with that code. As I navigate to others screen (e.g. Home) and then press back button to quit, the app freezes and s...

Quitting the app in Android freezes it

Something is making my app freeze when I try to quit it. Either by directly calling the quit command, or by pressing the back key and passing the backKey handler. It just freezes and becomes unrensponsive. I am getting getting very frustated by this. My only option so far is just trapping the backKe...

Re: Browser Widget Enhancements

Has there been any updates on the original request? Couple years have passed by and the bug stays "hibernated". The browser widget has a ton of potential and benefits. Of which many were mentioned in this post and the bug report. The 3D transformations example https://stemkoski.github.io/Three.js/Re...

Re: How can I do some changes in LC engine and test them?

Actually It was doing what it is supposed to do. It wasn't an error, just a warning. It mentions two missing input files. So I proceed. The configure.bat files does create the folder build-win-x86_64 containing the Visual Studio files to compile it. That file detects my PC's arquitecture and automat...

Re: How can I do some changes in LC engine and test them?

I installed all the dependencies, including updates, and followed Windows guide in LC github. After cloning LC, when I double click the configure.bat file I get an error. Apparently 2 files are missing: https://i.ibb.co/ZcjxDBN/Screenshot-2021-01-04-14-20-56.png Any recommendation? No idea what I am...

Re: How can I do some changes in LC engine and test them?

Just what I was fearing, I have to follow a long process in order to compile the engine and play around with the browser widget. Alright, thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Will report back the results.

How can I do some changes in LC engine and test them?

I want to modify how the browser widget call the CEF browser implementation. I took a look into LC source in github and found the file that I want to edit which is this: https://github.com/livecode/livecode/blob/develop/revbrowser/src/cefbrowser.cpp Once I modify it, how do I incorporate/compile/run...

Re: the microseconds

I have a friend who would love to use LC to control a homeMade CNC milling machine. He uses assembly language now, because he cannot get LC accurately to know what time it is. The milliseconds don't cut it. Craig You can use LC to control a CNC for sure, but LC wouldn't be doing the dirty low level...

Re: Recommendation with Android native input fields?

Oh wow that's perfect. I will explore those controls. I never thought they had so many properties. For some reason I thought the widgets were equal but drag&drop-able from the tools palette. Thanks !

Re: Recommendation with Android native input fields?

Well for styling I don't mean text effects like shadows and 3D features. I mean mostly the background styling, mostly backgroundColor, borderColor, hiliteColor, rounded corners and margins/padding. Those are enough. The Native Android has an unique input field. It is a white solid background with a ...

Recommendation with Android native input fields?

Recently I finished a Windows app that now I'm trying to implement into Android. I'm quite happy that out of the box 90% of the app works straight away in my phone the first time I compiled it for mobile. It makes me happy to see the marketing promise "Code once, deploy everywhere" is quite solid. N...
