Re: Comparison with Xojo . . .

Also interesting is Google's Flutter wit Dart as the main language. Claims also the be using native code on mobiles, translated in Javascript for web, and is now also supporting Windows and MacOs executables. And all for the price of...nothing. You'll need to learn Dart, Java like language. Next to ...

Re: Android Studio - Additional JDK not needed (Solution to Java is none error)

But private users don't get an exe installation program anymore. They only get openJDK zipfiles and must do installation manually and set registry by themselves. A private person can still download Oracle's JAVA jdk as an executable exe. One has to register and log-in these days. No need to do regi...

Installation instructions are currently provided in the Lessons .

Apparently that's not well known, so perhaps what we need is to include a note in the package with that URL. Or maybe better, put the link next to the link people use to download the package.
Yes, also a good idea

Re: POLL: LiveCode Server deployment

This is copied from a working XAMPP on windows which I carry also on USB, copy it into httpd.conf. Open XAMPP, click on config and open httpd.conf with notepad+ or whatever. note that the part Documentroot and <Directory is already in it, but i copied it here so you can see where I added the LC part...

Re: POLL: LiveCode Server deployment

It's not the Release notes what is needed with the Server zip download, it's the Description notes which exactly point out what you have to do to install LC server and have it working correctly.

Re: POLL: LiveCode Server deployment

Although there is a long standing bug report to include the correct description notes with the server download, it is still not solved as of 2019. Seems to me a very simple thing to solve: https://quality.livecode.com/show_bug.cgi?id=22405 The correct notes are with version 6 and was also shared her...

Re: Fun With APNG & LC

Betamax was always the better format but VHS won in the end because of adoption. Not at all, the best was VCR aka Video2000 made by Philips, 2 sides payable, perfect still image. Stripe-less fast forward with image. Hi-Fi stereo. VHS won the race because Video2000 refused to bring out some kind of ...

Re: Possible to build LC stack for Android Go ?

I didn't know that. Do you know if there is a size limitation for apps? The Go version is supposed to be optimized for trimmed-down apps. My Daughter had an GO version before, and it simply worked. Comparing the sizes of apps made by LC and the ones I sometimes see on Google Play, they're not so bi...

just look on tonymacx86.com and you can find all info about it. Running BigSur now without any problems on my triple boot together with win10 and Ubuntu. And must say Ubuntu is the fastest booting within 2sec desktop is there. You need to put the MacOS on a separate SSD, and win10 and Ubuntu on anot...

Re: You cannot trust arithmetic anymore

There are a bunch more "implementations" or bugs who reside for years in the quality list and are not being solved or hibernated, maybe for the devs not important enough.

Re: What Users want from the next version of LiveCode

-Multi-threading, in other languages eg.Python. One can say do this in this thread and that in that thread. -HTML5 not the way it is now, but something like an output which is a mix of LC-server and HTML. Again this makes it difficult to deploy, because most servers do not run LC-server. It has to b...

Re: Logic behind put URL or PUT URL into a variable

As I was not convinced that the PHP files would be the culprit, hence it worked before, so checked previous used files with the current ones. It were minor changes like tablenames etc. And since changing some in the LC script it worked, entering it directly in a browser also worked ok. Also no error...
