Re: SOLVED: Can't display the QRCode generated with qrCreate

I needed a QR code generator and rather than go on line, I found this for LC
I copied and pasted this as a stack and it worked perfectly in the editor, but does nothing when made into an EXE.
Did anyone else find this issue?
Win 10 Version 2004 OS build 19041.388
Running LC Community 9.6
Thanks

Re: Graphic help needed

I am overjoyed with what you did. Thanks Sparkout. I see what you mean about the anomalies with the lines, but usually, the cause is easy to find when you have a clear issue to hunt down. I admit I was a bit despondent with my efforts because of the slow refresh and although I realised what was wron...

Re: Graphic help needed

Whilst far from complete, also the symmetry maths is wrong, I have progressed to something that can be seen. All due to the amazing help and support from you guys. Things still to do:- For the second half of the display, 180 to 360, it needs mirroring vertically so it is a cardioid, not yin Yan. You...

Re: Hiding code in a button in a commercial version of LiveCode

I wonder if this suggestion might work?
Years ago, I developed a large programme in modules. The main part was effectively buttons that triggered the called exe module. Nothing wonderful, but perhaps your script could become an ex, called by your button?

Re: Graphic help needed

You seem to have solved my problem beautifully, Sparkout. A quick test seems to have calmed my worry that 360 divisions might be restrictive. In reality, even a 4K screen is unlikely to show greater detail than 360 points can resolve. I looked to see what happened when mathematically the answer was ...

Re: Graphic help needed

Hi dunbarx, Unlike the hands of a clock where the lines radiate from the centre, my lines run from peripheral points to other peripheral points. I would gladly show you pictures, but that hasn't been switched on for me. Take one line for example. It might be calculated that a line forming a pattern ...

Re: Graphic help needed

I am finding a wealth of leads to info in the dictionary now, with your stack. I can see our different approaches in code that seem to lead to a similar result, and yours gives a fuller picture of what is needed. My rays don't emanate from the central point but like the numerals on a clock face, dep...

Re: Graphic help needed

Thank you all. I can understand the issue now. I have noticed the naming aspect as the items appear in the Project Browser. I have since progressed with a circle and no issues, having adapted the working code supplied by Sparkout. The trigonometry part is the easiest, for me, and I hope to have the ...

Re: Graphic help needed

Thank you Craig and Sparkout for your assistance. I wish I knew where you got your code information, I prefer to understand how things work rather than copy and paste. I will press on with the suggestions you kindly made and see if I can move on with this experiment. Regarding my own code, I remain ...

Re: Graphic help needed

Why would that be a reasonable behaviour? The computation is as new, each time the button is clicked. Why is there any carry over of anything to create a rectangle in a different location than the coordinates for the line. Whilst not part of this thread, even the editor is dodgy because often I have...

Re: Graphic help needed

Thanks Craig, I am sure a bug report will help someone, but not me. At nearly 75, I may not live long enough to enjoy the update or cure. I have always enjoyed programming with RunRev or Livecode, but the re-learning curve is too steep if snags like this keep cropping up. I do wonder if anyone uses ...

Re: Graphic help needed

Hi dunbarx,
So, I am not necessarily mad then.
All I wanted to do was plot a circle and a few lines.
1.5 days, and this is all I have to show for it.
Any advice?

Try pressing the button twice. It draws the line on the first click and the rectangle on the subsequent one in this stack. I am using 9.6 on win 10
I hope that clarifies.
Thank you for looking.

Re: Stack size in 4k display?

I thought this was an interesting question about something I never had need to think about. Based on some replies, I suspect other users are the same. Although I use a windows 10, 3840 x 2160 res 15 inch laptop which has been connected to a 1920 x 1080 res 23 inch TV screen as a monitor in a dual sc...

Graphic help needed

I wanted to write a simple program that drew lines from specific points on a circle. (Mandelbrot) However, I cannot find any tutorial on how to use the range of graphic commands. I searched the dictionary. No help there. I have taken apart various examples to see how the graphics were implemented. A...
