Re: push notifications

Hi paulalsmith1000, just in case you haven't seen it I started with the two useful lessons below (even though the Android one is outdated) http://lessons.livecode.com/m/4069/l/53405-how-do-i-use-push-notifications-with-ios and http://lessons.livecode.com/m/4069/l/59312-how-do-i-use-push-notification...

UPDATED: TestFlight + iOS 13 Error

Hi guys, I've uploaded an App and released it for testing with Testflight. Users that are not running iOS 13 do not report any problem. One user that is running iOS13 on an iPhone XR is getting an error message from TF (see screen capture below) when it closes the App. Other than that the App perfor...

Re: How to know if a text will fit on a label field?

Jean-Marc & Klaus, instead of resizing the object what I want to do is to resize its contents in case it doesn't fit. Your answer will certainly help to achieve my goal.

Many thanks!

How to know if a text will fit on a label field?

Hi experienced developers, I have this "fixed width, height" label field to which before setting its contents (at run time) I would like to know if the text is going to fit on it. In other words I would like to avoid to set the contents to a text that will imply that the user will need need to scrol...

Re: Push notification on Android 9

Hi link76, I send Push Notifications (using Firebase not FCM) and they are received OK on a Motorola One running Android 9.

My app was built with LC 9.5 Indy.

Re: iPadOS is coming - what will be the implications for LiveCode?

HI SWEdeAndy, I'm surprised there were no answers to your question...did you find out something by other means?

Anyway FYI I've tried one of my Apps (built with LC 9.5) on an iPad Pro running iPadOS 13.1.3 and everything went OK.

Best!

Re: Getting the SIM phone number

Thanks to all for your answers.

I guess the SMS approach pointed out in the post referenced by Thierry is a good path to be explored. I'll probably try it in the near future.

Getting the SIM phone number

Hi guys, as far as I understand the OS doesn't allow the Apps to get the phone number stored in the SIM card, correct? If this is the case I wonder how WhatsApp is able to automatically find out that the phone number has changed when I replace the SIM card (when traveling abroad for instance). Looki...

Re: IDE: How to go back to "none/default" Color

Hi Craig, you are right and I'm aware about the availability of using scripts to do almost everything but cook dinner :D

But, even though maybe I wasn't clear enough on my original post, I was really looking for as how to do it using the IDE...

Cheers!

IDE: How to go back to "none/default" Color

Hi guys, after setting one of the control color properties on the IDE color window I can't get it back to the "default/none" back slash option. As an option what the "default" color would be? Help please, by mistake I set my main stack background color and now all my cards have the wrong color. Scre...

Detecting App coming back from the background (updated)

Hi iOS developers, I would like to show a splash screen during the initialisation process (to let the user know the App is busy loading stuff) when it is run from scratch but not when it is coming back to the front screen after it was sent to the background. Searching the forum I found this post htt...

Thanks Jacque, it makes complete sense that already published app should not be impacted.

Re: Can't upload to Apple Store: ERROR ITMS-90179

Thanks Jean-Marc, after all it was me using the wrong distribution Profile...(shame on me)

Anyway it would be interested to know what are the consequences of deleting a provisioning profile used by an app that is already published...

Best!
