Data Tree control beta testers wanted

Post by whelkybaby » Sun Aug 02, 2009 11:20 am

Hi all,

I've completed a beta of a tree control for RunRev that I've been working on in my spare time and I'm looking for some people to try it out and help me hone it into a solid first release.

The control is designed to completely ape the look and behaviour of a disclosure tree that you'd find in a Mac OS X Leopard app. In time, I hope to be able to find the time to expand it. However right now, it does the basics pretty well.

There's more information over at my website, www.theworcestersource.com. If you are interested in trying it out and offering some feedback, please reigster an account with my site so I can give you access to a download page.

Much thanks!

Steve

Just a quick post to say that anybody who has registered with my site should now be able to access a download page to get the beta (requires logging back in again).

Thanks again,

Steve

Hi Steve and other folks,

Did you try the libIMEDTreeManager?
How do you compare with it?

More info on http://forums.runrev.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=358.

I want to try it, but two attempts to register for your site gave errors when register was clicked after adding my info. Might be because I'm using Opera on this computer. I'll give it a try with another browser when I get a chance.

You dont have to register for our site to download the Tree Manager & Tree Field Control!

Just browse the following page and click the "Download" link:
http://www.imed-edition.net/rev/treemanager/index.html
or directly download by clicking this link.
Then, decompress the zip file and double-click on file libIMEDTreeManager.rev or Documentation.pdf ... and enjoy!

Kind regards,

Hi Keyless,

It might well be Opera giving you some problems. If you take my name "Steve" follow it with an "@" and then "theworcestersource.com", you can email me directly and I'll send you a copy.

My control is rather different to IMED's in both the way you work with it and in its appearance. I've really gone to town to make the thing look like it's a proper Cocoa control.

Thanks,

Steve

P.S. beta 0.9.1 was released last evening.

The major difference is in appearance. imed has a very windows look, while Data Tree is has true Mac look. Aside from that, I can say that Data Tree works very well, the implementation is very clean, with excellent documentation.

Nicely done Steve!

Hi all,

I've been steadily releasing betas of my tree over the last few months and have reached a bit of a milestone: the tree now caters for Mac and Windows native appearances.

Would appreciate any feedback, bugs etc.

Thanks,

Steve
