Using LiveCode to create a streaming platform?

Post by sterbobi » Wed Aug 21, 2019 12:36 pm

Hey guys, I just wanted to ask a quick question regarding the process of programming a streaming platform through LiveCode. Personally I am not an experienced programmer but i do have some general knowledge, however my expertise doesnt include anything to do with creating Streaming Platforms. Would it be possible to create a Twitch like client (not web based) through livecode? Additionally, what kind of devs would i need to hire to get this project started and what would be the interval of time required to finish this project?

The idea of the platform is basically to have broadcasters live stream content which then some of it can be also rewatched on demand.

If Twitch provides and API for native apps you could use that. But it would be expensive to implement that component in LiveCode directly.

Most such apps take a hybrid approach, which you can do in LC, by using a browser object to play the steam within an interface built in LiveCode.
