I haven't done socket stuff before, so I'm wondering if there are any example stacks around that I could learn from. I'd like to poll a mail server to get a list of recent unread emails, specifically so I can make my own alert if I get something from a specific mail account.
(I actually did something like this in the 1990s with SuperCard and Marionette, but I have nothing more than a top-level memory overview of it now!)
